I know we know next to nothing in details. However, I find it the most disturbing thing to try and have any respect for anyone walking away from a dying spouse or someone who is in dire need of support facing cancer or something like it.

What Robertson said was totally against the Bible.
For what he said opens the door for people to justify divorce for just about any reason. When something happens to your spouse, as in this case, you can justify divorce because your spouse is not normal anymore, like it was when you married them. They have a defect! John Lackey is worse than scum.

True, but the article does say it is him that filed the divorce. “Boston Red Sox pitcher John Lackey has filed to divorce his wife, Krista,”. On the other hand, there could infidelity on the wife's part that caused the action?
