No, I get the point. I just disagree. I think examining every phoneme the man utters is idiotic. Doing things like this when it’s so obvious what happened makes us look petty and small and only serves to provide ammunition to the left to use against us. There are bigger fish to fry.

And that's why the Democrats always beat us on "message."

The Democrats know a slip-of-the-tongue, too, but it doesn't doesn't stop them from sending someone up to the camera to ask why so-and-so said such-and-such.

The purpose is to take the other person off-message for a news cycle by being forced to defend the accusation or implication, and then hope the person makes an error in their defense that can be exploited for the next news cycle or two.

The Democrats do it all the time.

The Republicans talk themselves out of doing it, all the time.
