Perry was as awkward as early Palin, as early Reagan (I lived in CA when he ran for Gov.), and as early Willard. We pretty much agree there. I’ll even agree that Perry doesn’t have much time to get his act together. Still, he does (I think, barely) have a little time left to get it together,

I think it was just a mis-statement from Perry.

The heartless comment was pre-prepared. You could tell he'd practiced that line in debate prep. It was aimed, I'd guess, at a general election audience. The line backfired horribly and whoever on Perry's team suggested it should be fired immediately.

Perry is a bad debater. Okay, fine. Perry has some RINO in him on a few issues. Okay, no candidate is perfect. But Perry blatant insult of the majority of conservatives on this issue was incredibly stupid. What is MOST alarming though is his inability to think on his feet and communicate conservatism. Being right on most issues is not enough. Perry needs to be able to at least reasonably, intellectually explain what conservatism is all about. So far, I have my doubts he can do it. We had 8 long miserable years of Bush unable to communicate even when he was right, we can't deal with more of the same.

Perry can recover. It's way too soon to write him off. But if he doesn't bring his A game to these debates and keeps insulting/offending the conservative base, he won't last long.

Brit Hume said businessman Herman Cain’s victory may not mean all too much

I am sick to death of people saying that Cain's win doesn't mean all that much. He's a great candidate, he's worked his backside off, and for them to belittle so they can take a swipe at Perry is vicious. Cain worked for that win, and when they thought Romney was going to win it, it was important, but with Perry coming in ahead of Romney they have to step on Cain's win just to make sure they deliver a death blow to Perry.

You watch, if they succeed, they will turn on Cain and start with the "no money" mime.

Palin/Cain?

Think so. Yep, by golly.

It seems that many political commentators have all the perspective of a teenaged girl. It’s either the greatest this or the worst that no matter how trivial. Perry can comeback or he can dig his hole deeper. It will not happen as a single action. It will be a string of events.

I love Cain but this win doesn’t change the situation much. He will has a long haul ahead of him. He needs to earn his win as much as anyone else.

Perry is not a conservative at heart and that explains his inability to communicate conservatism. He is a weakkneed moderate at best, a closet liberal at worst. Perry is Romney without the mental vigor.

If We The People want to revive the heartbeat of America, otherwise the Republic is over. A RINO is not going to do the hard things needed to stop the progressive machine now hauling America to the debtors prison of socialism.

Another thing that alarmed me was that when he went on Hannity's radio show at 4pm the day after the debate and Sean told him how many negative emails he had received and Sean said something like "I think you've been also getting your share of negative feedback too, right Gov Perry?"

And Perry had no idea what negative feedback Sean was talking about. In fact, Gov Perry said "No, actually I've been out shaking hands with the American people all day"

Someone needs to be fired in his campaign.

It's pretty obvious by now that he's the one that needs to be fired........

FOX News is completely in the tank for Romney.
I drive for a living, and listen to talk radio all day on XM. Brian Kilmeade is obviously a Romneybot, and John Gibson has become impossible for me to listen to because of his Romney slobbering.

Farmers know to pick the fruit when it ripens on the tree. It is not possible to buy tree ripened fruit on a mass market basis. Nothing is picked at the peak of perfection for mass transit shipping. We are used to buying hard, green peaches that never ripen. Politics is the same way. We are impatient, unwilling to wait for the right moment to propose a game changer idea or announce a candidacy. We keep insisting on tasting the fruit before it is ripe.
Sarah understands all this. She is not going to announce until her candidacy will result in a win.

With incipient crony capitalism, Gardasil, Trans-Texas Corridor it was only a matter of time before the Perry campaign imploded. The heartless comment just pushed it over the edge.

“There is no down site to a Perry departure...”

True, but there may be a down side.

I wondered aloud after the FIRST debate why his team didn't hire a debate coach for him?

They need not waste their money now.....it's too late.

I was willing to consider him until his stance on tuition for illegals was revealed. His team knew damn good and well he was going to be questioned on that over and over again and he still stumbled with his answer. No excuse for that.

He's toast!
