The Christian Post reported that on August 21, 2011, Mike Weatherley, a MP [Member of Parliament] for Hove, wrote a letter to British Prime Minister David Cameron saying, "As long as religious groups can refuse to preside over ceremonies for same-sex couples, there will be inequality."
In 2004, The United Kingdom passed laws legalizing same-sex unions, but churches were not required to participate in these unions. In 2010, the Conservative - Liberal Democrat Coalition proposed an amendment to those laws which allowed places of worship to "opt-in" to register same-sex ceremonies, something that MP Weatherley called a "messy compromise."
But that is not all that MP Weatherley had to say. He [and he is not alone in the British Parliament] said that churches should be "compelled" to register civil partnerships, the same way the Parliament "compelled" 11 Catholic adoption agencies to provide adoption services to same-sex couples.
Incidentally, some of those adoption agencies had to shut down based on conviction.
So much for freedom in a democratic society. What a shame western civilization as we know it is going down the tubes!!
Consider with me this deep, slippery slope:
Initially, homosexual lobbyist groups said, "All we want is to be left alone."
Then, a few years later, they said, "We just want our lifestyle to be accepted."
Not long after that it was, "We want our lifestyle to be legally recognized as a civil union."
And finally it went all the way to, "We want nothing less than marriage," which, since creation, has been defined and accepted as a sacred institution between a man and a woman.
Now, in England at least, they are demanding that churches be "compelled" to do that which is contrary to their deeply held convictions. I guess the homosexual lobbyists' attitudes are, "Forget their consciences and their biblical teaching and belief system."
Soon they will demand [and some of them already have] that we teach children to uphold homosexuality as a virtue.
In America, we are watching the breathtaking success of homosexual lobbyists as they intimidate well-known evangelical mega-church pastors into apologizing for their former, but now defunct, biblical conviction on the issue.
For a person who loves people regardless of their chosen sin, I am flabbergasted - but not surprised - by this runaway train that leads us to the same fate as that of Sodom and Gomorrah.
I am not surprised at their continual demand for increasing affirmation of their life style, because God created us in His own image and He placed a mechanism within us that alerts us when we are defying God's natural laws. Even homosexual lobbyists know deep down that homosexuality is contrary to God's created order.
Therefore, the fire of their burning consciences will not stop at being left alone, or being accepted, or being promoted as the norm, or even elevating their lifestyle as a virtue. Why?
Because that fire will only be quenched when they acknowledge that they were born sinners, just like me, and come to the only Savior who can set them free, giving them victory over the bondage of sin.
Tragically, as the Apostle Paul wrote, "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed" (Ephesians 4:18-19). This is grievous! We must implore them to repent and to turn to God to receive His wisdom, understanding and ultimate victory over sin--something every Christian must do.
Coming to a nation near you. As soon as they legalize it here, I give it no more than a couple of years, they will be demanding that our clergy perform these ceremonies in our churches.
If we falter in this next election, this will happen. We need to make 2010 look like a blip on the radar screen. Lanslide loss for Obama, coupled with entended majority in the House and 60+ seats in the senate.
And President Cain will never allow this nightmare to take place on our soil!

Severe neurotic delusion. The article illustrates the basis of that conclusion very well. Nothing is ever enough. You'll find that most homosexuals are that way about almost everything. It should be called SDD, Sensory Dissatisfaction Disorder.
It is because homosexuals are immature.....immaturity always includes selfishness, pride—sinful behavior. They are unable to function at a high level of maturity which includes the intimate, long term relationship with a spouse raising children to adulthood.
Homosexuality is selfish narcissistic behavior—just the pleasure principle with disregard for objectifying human beings. Their acts demean and defile human beings. There is no way to be a “moral” or a “mature” person when acting on urges that demean the human body. It is particularly evil to demean a body using sex-—whether defecating on them, etc.
What they are saying is that it is moral to ignore reason and act on urges.
That makes Jeffrey Dahmer—who sodomized young boys and ate them—moral under their new “morality”. Eichman was moral too....as was Stalin and all the people who did not believe in Objective Truth.
It is unconstitutional for a country like ours to impose this denial of Objective Truth—for that philosophy denies our Natural Rights come from God-—the fundamental philosophy of our Legal System. We are a nation founded on Objective Truths of inalienable rights.....which can never be eliminated by this absurd new “morality” where there is no right or wrong—no Objective Truth—no God.

Good terminology. It makes sense that those who are terminally dissatisfied have some type of disorder.
Mike Weatherley to all places of worship in Great Britain: In order for homosexuals to achieve equality, you must lose your rights.
What it is called is “implacable”. You cannot ever placate them enough. They can never be satisfied enough, because they KNOW there’s something wrong with them and no amount of applause and affirmations are going to get rid of that inner feeling that they are not right.
They think getting rid of all opposition and criticism will get rid of this but it won’t. They can’t handle anyone not supporting their lifestyle. Because they know it’s wrong, they can’t stand anything reminding them they’re wrong. Which is why they can’t stand normal couples (they so nicely call ‘breeders’ or worse).
David Cameron’s reply to this perverse little MP SOB should simply be that Parliament does not in the 21st Century dictate Church dogma, and that if the MP persists in this line of inquiry steps will be taken to remove him for irresponsible and inappropriate comments which are damaging to the true function of the civil government.
Generally speaking, homosexuals epitomize excess because they are constantly chasing after something, anything, that will satisfy their craving for sensory stimulation which is in turn due to a constant and consistent disappointment with their every experience. Their expectations for satisfaction are never met in a chronic and pronounced way.
That would be an excellent way to deal with this particular situation. Put the guy on the defensive for attacking freedom of religion and the rule of law.
What is the State doing trying to dictate to God what is and isn't?
At the end of the day, those of us who are part of the spiritual oversight of Christian churches need to stand with the apostles and say, “We must obey God, rather than men.” Our church policy is that only currently serving elders and commended workers (a.k.a missionaries) are authorized to perform marriages by the church. We require both the prospective bride and groom to be believers and to undergo pre-marital counseling. Obviously, we believe the Scriptures are clear that marriage is between one man and one woman. We take the responsibilities of biblical eldership seriously, and as those who must give an account to the Chief Shepherd, will not be a preside over a marriage that is not consistent with the Scriptures. Many do not like our stand. They are free to look elsewhere for someone to marry them.

By conditioning the people to think that marriage comes from the state, if it is looked at as just another lousy gubberment contract that can be broken and resumed as long as the state says so, they gain tremendous control of the culture. Statists and homosexualists love that many will accept anything as marriage as long as the state issues a piece of paper saying it is marriage. They also really dig that the state can punish those who don’t buy into their ever devolving standard of “marriage.”

I hope that 100% of people reading this finally get it—the inmates are in charge of the asylum. This has been their goal from the begining and these are NOT nice people, no matter how charming or engaging they can be. They are possessed of evil and they will not stop. They have NO concept of bounderies. Think of someone like Caligula and how depraved he was once he gained power.
Of course the answer to what would happen to any clergy refusing to perform gay marriages would be prison. This is what they want to do to us becuase they hate us that much. Everybody get it through your heads—THEY are the haters. Imprisoning clergy has already happened in Sweden when a minister, in his own church read passages from the Bible condemning homosexuality. He was jailef for months. Some day the Bible itself will be condemned or forced to be rewritten into a gay-friendly format.
It sure looks that way, and I bet he does not like it
If a person wants to be a Christian they’ll have to be prepared for prison and perhaps death at some point.
