ISSAQUAH
SNIPPET: “Investigators say the suspect walked about half a mile across school campuses and a trail. During that trek, he pointed the rifles at several people but did not pull the trigger.
Midge Zeylmaker’s daughters ran for cover “they came running in through the back carport saying there’s a shooter loose,” she said.
When the suspect finally got to Clark Elementary School, he began shooting but did not fire in the direction of any people.
Witnesses say they saw him attempt to break into an unoccupied car.
The man then attempted to enter the cab of a backhoe parked on school grounds. He continued shooting throughout. When officers converged on the school, the man walked to a service road where he fired at four officers. They returned fire and hit him more than once.”
Wow. Glad everyone was okay and the only one shot dead was the gunman. Great police response.
oh man. I know that town fairly well. Prayers for the community!!!

“Man brandishing two rifles shot and killed by Issaquah police”
By Eric Pryne
Seattle Times staff reporter
SNIPPET: “A youth football game was under way at the time at Issaquah High School, just south of Clark.
Cheryl Puterman, whose daughter Dalia was a cheerleader at the contest, said a coach and police officer announced seven minutes into the game that the field needed to be evacuated.
“Everyone was in a panic,” she said.
About 150 people were ushered under the bleachers and “told to keep down and be quiet,” she said. “Then we heard the gunshots. Everybody was crying, scared.”
They were kept there for two hours, Puterman said, with parents separated from their children.”
ah. Death by suicide I see. Why he couldn’t just put the gun to his own head is beyond me. Poor kids and locals. I know this area and it is a very peaceful safe place.
OPINION - SPECULATION: Yes, my initial thoughts when following the news’ sources was that this may have been a suicide by cop ... however, not enough info in to verify my speculation.
Yep.
that was his opus, it seems.
watch out for the inhuman guman!
I went to my kid’s soccer game at noon about a mile from there today. Was wondering what all the police and ambulance activity was about.
Left my pistol at home because the game was at a school.
The debate that goes on in my head about following the law versus protecting my family is getting pretty one-sided.
There were witnesses saying that as they ran, shots were hitting a concrete wall right next to them, between him and his friend.
I have no doubt the guy was shooting at people, and luckily a lousy shot.
Same here.
Pack, Sir, pack. So they take your weapon and you get probation. Your kids will have a chance. Pack!
The school should have posted some of those “gun-free zone” signs around. That would have stopped him.
With the firepower heard in the video, this could have been tragic. I agree with post above........PACK!!!! This story had a happy ending, thank God.
Maybe if they did better at teaching jihadists and maniacs to read...
