Thanks for posting, kristinn. Jim and the rest of our FreeRepublic heroes (including you) have saved my sanity over these last 15 years. Prior to FR I thought I was a lone voice in the wilderness. Life became better for me with the addition of FR. I am better educated, and better informed. I am sure I speak for many in this regard.

Freeper number 18175. Would have been sooner than 1/31/99 but I lurked for several months.
Got introduced to FR by a sweet lady at a festival in Orange County, CA back in Oct/Nov of the previous year. My then newlywed wife (Tanusha is her FR name) were so happy to find a site that espoused our views. My sweet angel barely spoke English at the time (new from Russia - actually Belarus). Whoever you are we thank you.

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn’t able to get back to the thread earlier as I was at a local Jazz Festival all day Sunday.
I found myself 4 times actually in the montage.. the reference you gave was with Toby. Others of me are back & side. Pix I had seen prior.
Walter Reed Friday nights were very special. I was only able to get to 4 of the events with issues of $$$ & getting away with mom’s situation, but they were always uplifting — even in the extreme cold, wet or heat.
Wow! I didn’t know FR and I had the same birthday.
....but arrived a bit late and didn't make the picture...
