I thought about pinging Darkwing or 50mm. Which I am doing now as a courtesy.

DW, looks like we may have one for you to keep your eye on. Born on date of 9/21/11 but he acts like he might be a retread.

There you go again. You offered nothing but opinion that's now been shown to be wrong. Perry is tanking, the field is wide open, and you still try to claim superiority in your thinking.

Such a strange fellow, you lost it, you couldn't continue the conversation, so you went to the old "I'm so much smarter than you" defense and you're still trying to do it in spite of all the evidence.

The problem is, in the short span of one week, everything you claimed was true has been shown to be false.

So, how do you like your crow? You can pretend you didn't have it served up to you on a platter, but you still have to tell me if you like it crispy or raw.....

Yada, yada, yada...

>>>>>You offered nothing but opinion...

And you offered nothing but BS!

Its still Perry v Romney as the frontrunners and you're still pissing in the wind.

You can keep telling yourself that Perry is still the front runner, and you can still keep fooling yourself for a very long time, cognitive dissonance will do that to a man. Truth is Perry is toast and the base is looking for a true conservative to take his place now that they see who he is and what his record has been. Here’s a small example of what’s happening everywhere in the blogosphere, everywhere in the tea parties, FR and the entire GOP base, it’s a total realignment and he’s toast. Enjoy it with your crow:

Blah, blah, blah...

Right. More straw polls, this time from the blogosphere. Is that the best you have? Sorry, bucko. That poll has zero credibility in the real world of politics.

Until I see Rasmussen, or even Gallup come out with their new numbers, it remains Perry v Romney.

Q: What about a nationwide concealed weapons bill? A: Here’s how I’d like that done: Let each state pass a concealed weapon bill. Empower the states—some states already have it—and not have a federal mandate.

That's fine as far as it goes. That's pretty much what is in play right now and I think it's quite successful. But what is his reaction in the case of the diehard gun ban holdout Illinois? Well, it's states rights. But it's not. It violates the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment. Again, he doesn't have to meddle in the states affairs BUT he does have to stop them from trampling on the US Constitution!

Source for that? Because I can’t find it. What I did find, I posted so until you prove otherwise, I’m not buying it.

Michele Bachmann won the Iowa Straw polls too but her numbers plunged nationwide since then..

I like both Michele Bachman and Herman Cain but neither one in my opinion will be president..Heaven help us if Mitt Romney becomes president..

Here you go: Purpose of the 14th Amendment This is my line of work. I have been teaching US Government at all levels including Advanced Placement (college level) for 22 years. Read it all carefully. I can cite many more. This source is only slightly dated. It states that the 2nd Amendment hasn't been incorporated when in fact under the Heller decision it has been linked down to the state and local levels. But that was fairly recent decision in jurisprudence.

By the way, your "source": Source: Campaign event Q&A in Rochester New Hampshire Apr 28, 2011 is hardly legal doctrine. It is a set of talking points for a politician running for office. PUH-LEASE!

Dummy, I was asking for a source for your claim of Herman Cain’s position *being pro gun ban) not a legal source. Now, do you have a source for your claim about CAIN?

IDK if you teach US Gov in High School, I taught History at a University. Also I’m married to an attorney. So, your ‘qualifications’ don’t give you any credence. I know the legal sources, I want a source for your claim of Cain’s beliefs.

I’m not holding my breath.

It’s going to be interesting to see all of the polls coming in this week. I think you might see a small rise in Cain, but in general, the establishment candidates will still be significantly on top. It may be disheartening, but I think you will continue to see Perry vs. Romney all day, all night, and how both are crap...That is what the establishment/media wants...

It violates the due process and equal protection clauses of the 14th Amendment. Again, he doesn't have to meddle in the states affairs BUT he does have to stop them from trampling on the US Constitution!

Doesn't have to meddle? Isn't allowed to meddle would be more correct. The 14th Amendment is an odd duck in that it departs from the pattern in the Bill of Rights restricting the Federal government only. The "privileges or immunities" of citizens are now protected from State violation; there is good evidence to suggest that Congress had the right to bear arms specifically in mind.

However, does he have to stop States from committing violations? He can't write a law against it: he's not Congress. Even then, Congress can't pass bills commanding the States to do anything. He can't have the Justice Department sue: they aren't a party that has been wronged.

"Let each state pass a concealed weapon bill." That's about as far as he, as President, can Constitutionally go. It's a stretch to claim that Cain is against 2nd Amendment rights simply because he is mindful of the constraints of federalism.

I'm the dummy? Here you go: University prof married to lawyer equals double indemnity foolishness. Look under the title "Legislations." Now, I don't know how you managed to find your way out of the sickening morass of the socialist university system and worse the self serving corruption of the legal profession (that's why I quit law school as a 2L to marry a teacher and do something good for society rather than be a parasite) but my hat's off to you. You can breathe now.

Don't feel bad, Rick Perry called ME "heartless" too! That's why I'm going to be taking a long hard look at the other candidates. If Perry is the nominee, I'll work for him. If (barf, retch) Romney is the nominee I'll vote for HIM. I don't care which candidate gets the nomination, all I know is that we've GOT to get rid of the evil sitting in the Oval Office (or more likely, teeing off on some golf course somewhere) today.

You're right here. I stand corrected.

I think Attorney General at the direction of the POTUS could have the Justice Dept file a brief to the USSC to ask them to intervene in the event of a state level breach of the US Constitution. I'm reaching back here 25 years to my own time in law school, so bear with me if I mess it up, but perhaps a writ of mandamus? Compelling the state to follow the US Constitution? Not certain here, but pretty certain there are such mechanisms in place. Sorry for calling you and the wife fools. I don't react well to ad hominem attacks....

Here is the specific quote from the link I gave you:

Cain Position on Gun Control

The Second Amendment: Individual or Collective Right?

Cain is a firm supporter of the Second Amendment. “I support the Second Amendment … I support, strongly support, the Second Amendment. I don’t support … onerous legislation that’s going to restrict people’s rights in order to be able to protect themselves as guaranteed by the Second Amendment …” June 7, 2011 , An interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer

Legislations
Cain’s view on the Second Amendment is completely at odds with the mainstream conservative Republican position, in that, Cain favors state level gun control legislations...

“… yes, that (gun legislations) should be a state’s decision.” June 7, 2011 , An interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer

...all I know is that we've GOT to get rid of the evil sitting in the Oval Office...

That's a good reason to seriously support the eventual candidate. Now is the time to decide who that candidate should be. Cain's grasp of federalism gets my support in the primary election; I don't think he's shaky on the 2nd Amendment (or gay marriage, or abortion, or border security, for that matter).

About time. And hubby isn’t a parasite. You however aren’t a dummy, you are flat out stupid. No wonder you teach HS, you can’t follow a simple conversation.

BTW, the quotes you gave state that he believes it to be a states decision (which is correct). It does NOT however state what you claim that he is in favor of gun banning laws. CCW laws are also state control legislation.

So, you have proved yourself a liar and libelous. Good Job!
