A hired hit man in Brazil never got the job done.
Instead, he fell in love with his victim and conjured a plan to fake her death with the help of some ketchup, the U.K. Daily Mail reports.
Carlos Roberto de Jesus was hired by Maria Nilza Simoes to murder Iranildes Aguiar Araujo, whom she suspected of having an affair with her husband.
But the plan went awry when de Jesus fell in love at first sight with his intended victim and confessed the plot.
The pair then conjured up a plan to fool his employer into believing he had carried out the hit by taking photos of Araujo in a ripped shirt, taped mouth, tied hands, and with her body smothered in ketchup with a machete under her armpit, pretending to be dead.
The picture was then sent to the wife saying he had killed her.

Ketchup doesn’t look good on film, I suggest you mix water, corn syrup (Karo works well) and use red food coloring to get the effect you are looking for.

Three mistakes made by the “hitman”:
(1) Should have broken off the machete and taped it to her chest. Mug more believable.
(2) Should have moved ASAP.
(3) How about DON’T BE A HITMAN!
As for the woman who hired him: Ha hah!!!
Something similar happened in South Alabama around 40 years ago. It was so long ago that I can’t recall the details but I do remember the sheriff used Catsup. I guess he didn’t have any fake blood, but it worked anyway.
