Your full of it! I read where the doctors wanted to control the substance because of the side affects. I take both of those drugs I told you before and the side effects are really bad just like Primatene! primatene wouldn’t get approval because the big drug companies don’t want it on the market! Period.. It is like the codeine drug. You used to be able to buy over the counter aspirin with codeine cough syrup with codeine. But the Federal government had to step in and make you go to the doctor get a prescription have the Pharmacist make it up for you. Lots of people were going to Canada and Mexico to get their drugs instead of here!

You are wrong. I've treated asthmatics who almost died from using Primatene instead of better drugs. Model Krissy Taylor died from using Primatene instead of a better asthma drug. Just because you personally don't get the worst side effects from Primatene, doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. But if you want it, why don't you ask Armstong to reformulate with HFA? They could.

Codeine cough syrup was made prescription because foolish kids were using it to make "goofballs". Overreaction? Yes. They could have done what they did with Sudafed, make you sign for it, but leave it available OTC.
