Perry’s collapse makes way for Christie and others?

Yesterday I wrote a vignette in jest suggesting what New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie might be yelling at his TV during the GOP debate. Unlike his alter-ego in my vignette, the real Bill Kristol did not call Christie to plead nor drive over to his house to urge him to get into the race. Instead he used his Web site , figuratively speaking, to run over Texas Gov. Rick Perry with an 18-wheeler and drive through Christies living room window:
With nine candidates on the stage, and answers restricted to one minute, its hard to really show your stuff. And two of the candidate Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney did provide respectable performances. But no front-runner in a presidential field has ever, we imagine, had as weak a showing as Rick Perry. It was close to a disqualifying two hours for him. Bills solution: A big man for a big job. And you know who that is.

Perry wants illegals to receive in state tuition.
He also wants to be President.
The President is the executive of the federal government.
Do you seriously think Perry will enforce immigration law, as he supports money be given to illegals. Perry also calls the rest of us “heartless’, who are against the illegal invasion.
Perry is toast.
He cooked himself last night.

That would be a novelty, wouldn't it. Maybe we should just do like the last election and because McNut ran it was better to elect King Obama. Right? The public decides who will run not our little rants. Maybe it is time to get behind who the majority of the voters select.
In retrospect, if it weren't for the McCain-Obama lose-lose scenario the Tea Party would not have formed. And if Obama had not won, the Tea Party numbers would not have blossomed. And if the Obama administration had not so utterly failed, the Tea Party would not include nearly as many independents and democrats. So, yes, in retrospect, Obama was just the wake up call this country needed.
Now, do we have the spine to set things right, or not? I do. Are we gonna be good little boys and girls and do what the GOP tells us to do? You are welcome to get your butt in any line you desire, or let the GOP pick it for you if you want. I'm not that kind of person myself. I'll choose the line that makes the best sense for the country. And if the GOP directs you to a different line and the good team doesn't win, that's your problem that I'll just have to suffer the consequences of. After four years of Obama, I'm getting pretty good at suffering the consequences of other people's stupidity.
The public does decide who runs ... and wins. I'm part of that public. I'll keep ranting thank you much.

Aside from the fact that he’s almost certainly too liberal to win the nomination, and certainly too liberal for most Freepers (let’s thank God there are apparently no drags shots of the big fella), it makes it harder to argue that Sarah Palin is too late to get in if it’s not too late for anybody else. And it’s pretty much impossible to argue that Sarah Palin doesn’t have enough time in as governor to be a serious candidate if at least one of the other prospects has less time than she does.

I’d hold my nose and vote for Christie, contribute to him and campaign for him if it would get that SOB out of the White House.
We are debating alternatives.

Perry didnt do a good job last night, but he had a bunch of Nats Those Gnats you are referring to, were not the other candidates, they were the inquisitors, the fact that Perry revealed his heart on Illegals, hurts his chances immeasurably.
These shows are not debates, they are "Turkey Shoots" any idiot that participates in them is not worthy to be president. Pick any question they asked last night and try and imagine that they would ask the current resident in the White House the same question.
Megan Kelly defined herself as the true nitwit that she is. Her questions were well calculated to define Christians as hateful. Playing a clip of a steroid android gay whining about his status then trying to get Santorum to step in it. Her show is permanently on my deleted list.
Notice the stupid poll O' was touting last night, 75% of republicans don't want Palin to run, as if they would vote for Obama is she did run.
We will have a choice between full speed ahead over the cliff and going over with the brakes on, but go over we will, if drastic change does not come to Washington.

Ok, I’ve heard that “heartless” thing before. Clearly I need to see the debate or, better yet, read a transcript. The latter is easier to search...

Ditto that. I gave the first two debates to Gingrich, but yesterday was all Cain.

I'm pretty concerned that Perry hasn't done better in these question and answer settings, but he has time to improve. You should be more concerned about his position. If by improve, you mean he should tell a more believable lie about his true feelings, then the Republic is lost in an case.

I like the “turkey shoots”.
How skillfully a candidate can answer a “gotcha” question demonstrates how intelligent they are.
Otherwise, all we hear are stump speeches carefully crafted by a campaign’s PR department.
Anyone who avoids debates does not get my vote.

You should be more concerned about his position. Which position should I be concerned about?
He's Pro-Life.
He's Pro-Defense.
He's for defending our allies who support us.
He's Pro Tort Reform.
He's for a smaller federal govt.
He's for States having more independence.
He's for a judiciary ruled by the Constitution.
He's Pro business.
He's for less regulation.

I too was very disappointed with Palin when she quit her job rather than fight it out. Don't anyone give me the reason she quit I have heard them all but I don't want my president to quit when the going gets tough.

Palin is NOT Reagan! Perry is NOT Reagan! For that matter Reagan was not Reagan.
One of the big issues last night was abolishment of the DOE, guess who ran on that platform? Give up, Ronald Reagan.
