Not only would I not vote for Palin if she ran a dopey 3rd party vanity bid, I would pretty much lose all respect for her considering she's be essentially helping Hussein win a 2nd term.

Then just say, "I'd vote for Romney even though there is a better conservative in the race."

Because functionally, that's what you'd be doing.

The two-party system isn't the problem. The problem is that it's becoming more clear every day that there is NO conservative party. But if the GOP nominates an obvious liberal like Romney, a potent conservative party will spring up simply because there will be too many disenfranchized voters. If Sarah Palin chooses to lead that party, I'm totally on board.

Welcome to 5% of the vote and a completely pointless effort that will be largely forgotten quickly unless it enabled Hussein to get re-elected.

Sorry, I've been down the 3rd party road. It's a total waste of effort once you realize that our winner take all system is just not set up to allow for it. Without a way to build coalition governments, 3rd party bids are doomed to failure. Maybe in the next couple hundred years one will rise, but it would only be to replace the other party - then the new party will be the second leg of the two party system.

Sarah Palin is not an idiot and won't be running 3rd party anyway. She has made it perfectly clear "Anybody but Obama" is an overriding factor this cycle. And I am very sorry to burst your bubble, but if Romney wins the nomination, you can bet that Palin will endorse and campaign for him.
