I hope your right. Being 24 myself, I generally am around “the younger generation”. It’s sad, but most just look for instant satisfaction with no deep thinking involved.

What I see in this group of people is a desire to do something “important” (and from what you said, you agree). Problem is, is that the dems have brainwashed them to making them think that doing something important is “saving the enviroment” or “taking down the greedy rich”.

This is why the riots in Britain and Europe mostly consist of younger people.

You tell them something that plays to their heart and they don’t bat an eye going to the plate for you. It’s sad, but logic is lost.

Against better judgement, I watched the MSNBC post speech analysis of Obama’s job speech. They were saying how great it was, and how everything Obama said was great things. (Paraphrase) “He wants to build X number of schools... who can argue with that?!”. And people fall for it. They don’t think past the initial statement. It plays to their heart and they are sold.

Will they change? I hope. I’m not seeing it yet. People don’t think and that is what will kill our nation. Not Obama or his policies. It’s the people that put him in as President and don’t see Him for what he is. That is what is and will kill America.

-——a desire to do something “important” ——

That is a twist of my thought that they are driven “to make a difference”

I apply the thought to young women and am curious to learn if you think it applies to the young men as well.

I believe it is easy to make a difference, buy a bumper sticker or join friends of the earth. Carrying a FOE tote bag shows the world your advocacy and requires no real expenditure of money or effort. The thought is all that is necessary to develop self esteem for making a difference

Very good posting, justice14.

It’s great to hear from a young person like yourself that is already seeing the world like it really is and is willing to express your thoughts. That means there is still hope for America. Hang in there! I’m 69 and really appreciate the younger generations that recognize what is right for getting this country back on track. ....Best of luck to you in the future.

None of that is new. Young people in particular and most people in general are suckers for heart-strings being pulled. It’s why advertising works. It’s why the public is easily manipulated.

I believe a small group of alert, awake people can turn them in the right direction. One thing most people respond to is honesty - someone who is genuine. That person needs to come through this pack of politicians and speak to traditional dem supporters. He or She needs to tap into their hearts and remove the chains placed on them by their teachers and the media. They think they are doing something important to be concerned for a tree or a far off land while ignoring human beings in their immediate circle of influence. Someone needs to start rebuilding their pride in America and instilling a heart-felt, thoughtful patriotism. I don’t think that person is on stage yet.
