I am telling you, he is giving opponents rope.

Bachmann doesn’t get it.

Romney does

In which case I’d be helping to keep the House of Reps in the hands of constitutional conservatives and helping to switch the Senate to the same. Sliding slower into socialism isn’t my idea of hope & change.

“Bachman on HANNITY is saying that Perry lied about the cancer suffering lobbyist because she didn’t appear before Perry until AFTER he introduced it.”

Bachman is right on this one. She met with him because he had introduced the bill and the girl offered to help on this issue as she herself had the disease. It is also true that from that point on Perry went out of his way to be kind to the girl and indeed befriended her and went to her funeral when she died. However, Bachman is accurate in saying that it was after he had already introduced the bill that he met this girl.

“Clearly some of these guys are on Romney’s team. Santorum, for example. This guy has absolutely no chance. Why is he running? He probably sees himself as Secretary of Something in a Romney cabinet. He sure was carrying Romney’s water tonight.”

Definitely Santorum seems to have no other purpose than to attack Perry. Bachmann too. And to me, she’s the biggest disappointment. I live in her district, have worked on past campaigns, and given money to her campaigns. No more. It is abundantly clear to me that she is a Romney stalking horse.

I defended her against this charge when it first surfaced around here a few months ago, but I have to admit I was wrong. She has gone off the deep end with this HPV thing, and continuing to harp on it tonight is just inexplicable. On the other hand, she talks about ending Obamacare (one of her big issues right?), but when it comes up, she never utters a peep about Romneycare. This speaks volumes about her motivation.

That does seem to be a problem for you folks in Texas. It’s a national problem. Learn to deal with it that way.

[He will never close the border, and he’s failed at securing it with the millions given him by the federal government to do so.]

Do you have a link for that? Obama has refused every request Perry has made.

So far Perry hasn’t been articulate. I’m a Perry supporter, so it pains me to say that.

The best up there tonight was again, Gingrich, who in my opinion has won each of these debates. I actually thought Romney was a bit of a stumbler, too, and not exactly highly articulate. Cain did well. Johnson did well.

SECTION 2. Section 54.052, Education Code, is amended by adding Subsection (j) to read as follows:

(j) Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, an individual shall be classified as a Texas resident until the individual establishes a residence outside this state if the individual resided with the individual's parent, guardian, or conservator while attending a public or private high school in this state and:

(1) graduated from a public or private high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma in this state;

(2) resided in this state for at least three years as of the date the person graduated from high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma;

(3) registers as an entering student in an institution of higher education not earlier than the 2001 fall semester; and

(4) provides to the institution an affidavit stating that the individual will file an application to become a permanent resident at the earliest opportunity the individual is eligible to do so.

The law also requires noncitizens to apply for citizenship

Not quite. The commitment to file an application to be an LPR is so open-ended as to be meaningless. They may never be eligible to do so. Yet they receive in-state tuition.

That’s such a lie.

Hopefully Sarah Palin will be a better candidate in the general elections than she is "kingmaker" (which is indeed a title she proudly touts)because right now Romney's about to rise above Gov Perry and we all know who Palin (who is also part of Fox News) has been targeting all week. And it wasn't Romney.

Sarah Palin did well for us in 2010 (with the exception of campaigning for McCain's re-election). Hopefully a Romney nomination will not be her legacy.

If she didn't have the power. She would not be considered "kingmaker"

Here's your other problem. Your boy wants to be President of the United States. He has to win the primaries to get the nomination.

What he's doing is angering Republicans with his obduracy.

He has to give us an answer that makes sense to us ~ not to Texas, or the Texas legislature.

He seems to be unable to rise to meet our demand.

You said you posted facts. Then you assert that TX has 750 million people.... someone is very confused. I’m not surprised it is a Perry defender.

We already have 5 justices, and no one has gotten the case to them to overturn. I just dont see abortion as an issue that a president has any effect on. You just said in your post that it is Congress’ job, and potentially the USSC, which would put the executive 3rd out of 3.

Which candidate would be likely to use the bully pulpit to get congress to write a national abortion law? Should there be a national abortion law? Would a libertarian president necessarily put in a judge that would uphold Roe v Wade?

FoxNews is doing their best to put Mitt Romney against Obama.

You are so right.Last election they pushed Romney too. So did Rush and Ann Coulter. I am so relieved Rush and Ann are not pushing Romney this time around. Luntz showed his unfair and unbalanced opinion when he dissed Perry when the guy lost his train of thought when asked a question.

My son’s friends say they’ve lost their passion for Obama. They are searching for a replacemenit for that passion. Romney will not win their vote.

I'm sorry to say, but they won't find the passion they desire in any president. What young people need and long for is something more than men can offer. Men will always let us down. This reason alone has, lately, turned my optimism about our country and our world.

What ails America is not something a President can solve. They can lead us in the right direction, but they will not solve it.

Mrs. Palin is remaining quiet....she is waiting....she knows her battle plan....she knows her timing.....she is learning....studying the opposition....guarding the “cubs”....waiting quietly with an occasional “roar” (like the comments at the Iowa State Fair).....reconnoitering the challengers from within and the enemY from without.....studying weaknesses....building and conserving her strength....endlessly practicing....reading...honing her skills.....waiting.....waiting.....
This war has not yet begun. What has been seen of the other candidates to date has been nothing but minor and irrelevant skirmishing. Candidates in...candidates out....candidates winning....candidates losing.....candidates saying silly things.....candidates saying cogent, insightful things....
It is a very very long way to next November. There is no need to rush. In her mind’s eye, Mrs. Palin smiles knowingly and remembers the words of Napolean, “Never interupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” and General Patton, “Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like shit through a tin horn!”
When she arrives, you can count on total war. She has learned how to fight. She does not spin; she does not back away from principles; she means exactly what she says...and says exactly what she means. She builds a base of support because of who and what she is....not because of who or what she panders to.
Patience.....patience....
Wait for it!
And keep the faith....

Texas’ choices with regard to tuition tell you nothing significant about Rick Perry.

It tells us that one of the biggest panderers ever - George W. Bush - who preceded Perry for eight years, never took the step of signing a law that gave illegals in state tuition.
