Full Title: The vanishing passengers: It's a mystery as bizarre as it is disturbing - why have 165 people gone missing from cruise ships in recent years?
On the evening of April 6 this year, John Halford packed his suitcase and left it outside the door of his cabin on the cruise liner Thomson Spirit. It was the last day of a week-long Egyptian cruise and the ship was due to dock at Sharm-el-Sheikh the following morning.

Gopher done it.
Probably suicides. Very easy, just jump off at sea at night, nobody notices, you become shark food, done deal.
Follow the life insurance....
sssshhhh. Everyone thinks I’m dead.
Cruises have gotten much cheaper over the years. A lot more people are taking them.

Only one cruise experience. The day trip/excursions might hold more risks for Western tourists than the ship.
A good check list would be to note how many ship’s attendants there are per passenger. Most of the stewards are students - you seldom see the high-tech professionals.
There should be at least motion sensors and CCTV cameras along the ship’s railings. There is no way to account for every passenger’s whereabouts - those ships are huge.
This is 165 out of a jillion people who have taken these cruises. The incidence of murder, suicide and accidents is probably low compared to the same number of land-lubbers.
It makes air shows and air races look tame. In fact, more people die at NFL games than this, and that’s just in the parking lot.
