Probably suicides. Very easy, just jump off at sea at night, nobody notices, you become shark food, done deal.

Cruises have gotten much cheaper over the years. A lot more people are taking them.

Hell of a way to commit suicide if you know how to swim and tread water for a few hours.
Or days.

They had all been reported to Attack Watch!

Similar things happen at all times and in all places. A guy gets in his car and drives off. The car is found but no driver. Just make up your own story to explain what happen.

I am guessing a lot of drunk “I am king of the world” moments gone wrong. All this started happening after the release of Titanic.

Here is the original thread where we lost SM. It hit me hard that day. I cried for what must have been nanoseconds.
I was very relieved that SM got much better after being dead.

You didn't hear? It's Sidebar's twin.
We'd best let well enough alone.

Only one cruise experience. The day trip/excursions might hold more risks for Western tourists than the ship.
A good check list would be to note how many ship’s attendants there are per passenger. Most of the stewards are students - you seldom see the high-tech professionals.
There should be at least motion sensors and CCTV cameras along the ship’s railings. There is no way to account for every passenger’s whereabouts - those ships are huge.

This is 165 out of a jillion people who have taken these cruises. The incidence of murder, suicide and accidents is probably low compared to the same number of land-lubbers.

It makes air shows and air races look tame. In fact, more people die at NFL games than this, and that’s just in the parking lot.
