Obama is trashing our youth almost singlehandedly (well with a little help from Reid, Pelosi, FRank, Rangel, Schumer, Axelrod, Holder, etc.).

I agree this is a problem... young people face problems stemming from economies, lower education standards and social ineptness brought on by our "wired" society.

We as parent need to be demanding of our children because the county and society aren't.

1.) Limit access to the iworld, but teach them the power and usefulness of the iworld.

2.) Children do not get paid an allowance for chores, it is your responsibility to help out in the house you live in! 3.) Demand children have other activities in school or work.

4.) Instill the principle that at 18 you are on your own. We may help you, but no guarantees.

5.) Reverse the idea that college is the responsibility of the Parents. If you want an education, you work for it.

I have three teens and one 20 year old. Three children have bought their own cars with some parent help. The 20 yr old pays for school, and surprise, seems to have found a lot of scholarship money and the best deals on books using online sources. One teen has a job, one teen has been mowing lawns since he was 10 (then got a job with one of his "clients"). These two purchased nice used cars this summer. The last teen doesn't have a job, but isn't looking as she is very busy with band.
