race progress is mighty fun

Since we're discussing signs in this thread...

Years have passed since I last saw those billboards. But the legacy of the Warren court and its judicial activism is what we're living with today. If I could draw a dividing line in recent American history, it would be the ascent of Earl Warren to the Supreme Court. And that was, IMHO, the beginning of our descent as a nation.

And, sadly you're right wardaddy, even here on Free Republic, we have to tread very lightly on these volatile topics and watch our words. (See any of the MLK threads as a case in point).

you know...I think I remember those Impeach Warren signs..I had my dad’s Goldwater signs from 1964 until a few years ago

I will say one thing...on JFK..day of death

they dismissed school...2 hours early maybe...I was in Jackson MS at French Elementary...I noticed many kids...me in 2nd grade...were parroting that they knew their parents would not be very sad.

He was not loved in MS except by blacks and white libs.

Not an Earl Warren guy, but the Warren Burger court was worse, and had the worst of the Warren folks on it (Douglas, Brennan). There wouldn't be one without the other though.
