I am not driving anyone away. Only Perry can do that.

Not true. People who have little investment in a candidate, who are just beginning to investigate them, can be turned off by that candidate's supporters if they're nasty and offensive. I cite Ron Paul supporters as a classic example of that phenomenon.

As far as Perry himself is concerned, I don't think it's so much that he is driving supporters away, as it is his record, which is slowly coming to light. You can call these revelations "half truths and falsehoods" if you like, but I notice you're not debunking them, and neither are any other Perry supporters.

Refute what's in the article if you really want to defend your candidate. Snarling and spitting at me is only making you look like you can't defend him.

I make up my own mind about candidates. In all my time on FR I can't remember anyone saying to to me, "I'm not gonna vote for so-and-so because you were nasty to me". In fact during my 40+ years of political activism and advocacy on behalf of conservatives and Republicans, I don't know anyone who dropped support for a candidate because of some harsh rhetoric that crossed their ears or eyes.

Obviously you are easily upset and swayed by rhetorical harshness. I call that wimpy.

This article is found under the section of the WashCompost called.... "PostOpinion". Its an opinion piece. Bogus charges by a big time Romney supporter.

In the article: "Perry’s spokesman insists that Perry appoints people on merit."

If you have charges of illegalities against Gov Perry, I suggest you contact the Texas Attorney General and show him this article in the WashCompost.
