Lumberton police chief Dennis Hobson has amended his original obstruction of justice affidavit against Mayor Miriam Holder and made it a felony complaint.
...
He originally filed a misdemeanor complaint against Holder, but because the alleged crime of which she is accused of interfering is a felony, the obstruction of justice charge must also be a felony.
Last week, Lumberton police arrested three people for robbing a drug store, including the mayor's 18-year-old nephew. Hobson said the mayor repeatedly contacted him, demanding Jamaal Taylor's release. As a result of this new charge, a judge will have to refund Holder's $1,000 bond on misdemeanor charges and set a new felony bond.

I like this police chief!

Wow...I can think of some other charges that might apply.
Lumberton is not too far from me. A lot of rednecks up that way. They don’t live in Lumberton though, just around it.
I thought James Brown was dead.
She’s clearly not a looker. A starer, maybe.
On the count of Scabbage in the First Degree: Guilty!!!
The police chief has had his own legal problems: http://lumbertonpolitics.blogspot.com/2011/02/google-me.html
Obama voter.
If ugly was a crime she’d be on Death Row.
If there’s something to this, there might be a little feud that’s been brewing between the Chief and the Mayor. D@mn those public sector unions, can’t chuck out a forger. The court should furnish lots of popcorn to the jury.
The Obama era....is this what folks who voted for Obama wanted to see governmentally? Looks like that’s where we’re headed. Wonder if the folks in Purvis are worried it’s going to happen to them too?
Someone somewhere please get Limbaugh to pick this up. If this kind of thing is happening in a town like Lumberton, MS...we are facing some VERY, VERY serious problems in this country. Obama’s election has opened Pandora’s box wide open.
