Could the 59-year-old daughter of a retired country doctor from Haskell, Texas, who earned her masters degree in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSC), be the nations next first lady?
Many people in the nursing, health, and medical field are hoping so.
Anita Thigpen Perry, wife of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, is immerging as an asset to her husbands presidential campaign as more people discover she is a nurse and health advocate.
Mrs. Perry worked for 17 years as a nurse in surgery, pediatrics, and intensive care. She has also taught nursing.
Perry, speaking at the 35thAnniversary of the UTHSC in 1984, the 1977 alumna of the school said she takes great pride in this school.
While a student, I found that the School of Nursing expanded my knowledge and heightened my excitement about the profession, Perry said. Its much more than textbooks. Its about passion.
With tears in her eyes she told audience to "think of all the young men and women who have earned nursing degrees. Think of all the lives theyve touched."
More recently she has served as a fundraiser for the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault non-profit organization, and is a long-time volunteer for the March of Dimes.
She has been active in raising awareness of breast cancer, Alzheimer's and historical preservation.
In 2000, Mrs. Perry founded the annual Texas Conference for Women.

..........well....????... we have a food Nazi, there’s more for me type, who would wipe her feet on our flag........soooooooo, I’d say it would be a great improvement.
bump.
The scene is the darkest jungle in Africa. Two tigers are stalking through the jungle when the one in the rear suddenly reaches out with his tongue and licks the butt of the one in front. The lead tiger turns and says, "Hey, cut it out, alright." The other tiger says sorry and they continue on their way. After about five minutes the rear tiger suddenly repeats his action. The front tiger turns angrily and says," I said don't do that again!" The rear tiger says "sorry" again and they continue. After about another five minutes, the rear tiger repeats his action. The front tiger turns and says, "What is it with you, anyway? I said to stop." The rear tiger says, "I really am sorry but I just ate a lawyer and I'm just trying to get the bad taste out of my mouth."
Seems like she is a really nice lady.
Perhaps she should be the candidate. We already know more about her from that one paragraph than we ever will about the current White House occupiers.
Considering her professional accomplishment, I would have to say that the feminists should certainly be supportive.
Not a chance.
In contrast, Moochelle was making $317,000 per year as a hospital exec...
and was caught sending uninsured to other hospitals.
“immerging” ???
Yeah, but was there a time when she was not proud of her country? Does she take scores of friends on multimillion dollar vacations to playgrounds of the idle rich? Has she had her license revoked so she can't practice? Is her posterior a mile wide? How does she look in black/red commie/black widow outfits?
Did you forget your /sarc qualifier?
She’s for making people healthier using modern medicine. Michele Bachmann would have a big problem with that.
Does she gave a fat ass? Does she look like Patrick Ewing?
But Moochelle only got that $317,000 salary when Zero got elected to the Senate.
Hehe, my bad.
Hey, every good liberal (oxymoron, I know) knows that a disbarred lawyer (for insurance fraud, I believe) makes a much better crook...er...first wench, than a mere nurse.
After all, the nurse actually leaves the world a bit better at the end of each day, whilst she whose name must not be mentioned is... such a typical wife of a lib....useless, vain, and generally without purpose.
