Poll: Perry Leads Romney by 7 Points

A CBS News/New York Times poll taken from September 10th-15th (both before and after the most recent debate) shows Rick Perry with a 7-point edge (23 to 16 percent) over Mitt Romney among registered voters who intend to vote in a Republican primary or caucus.

Among the roughly half (49 percent) of Republican primary voters "who support the Tea Party movement," Perry has by far the highest net favorability rating (+53 percent),

Of note, Sarah Palin's net favorability rating is only +12 percent among Tea Party-supporting Republicans.

Had Sarah Palin served out her term, her family would be millions in debt or bankrupt right now. With no money problems, she can do what she wants now. And I don’t think she has ever been all that hot to run for President. She did far more for the conservative cause supporting other candidates that she would have done as a Governor swamped with bogus ethics charges. Bur she needs to make it official that she isn’t running, the sooner the better.

On Independents?

It's simple. The math behind elections in first past the pole single member districts pretty much dictates no more than two effect poles to which all factions with a political interest are attracted. and around which they divide.

Groups of factions cluster around those two poles. Currently we call one Republican and the other Democrat.

Candidates are belched up from within the two groups after negotiations (or even primaries) between and among all the constituent factions.

That's where the candidates come from. Whether or not they get financing is pretty much decided by the factions ~ and that can be a real problem from time to time.

In all cases a winning candidate must be attractive to the Democrat or Republican "base:, as well as at least one faction in the other party or "pole".

The people who do not participate in this process are OUT OF THE GAME. They may vote in primaries but if they chose to run a candidate outside of the party main stream the candidate will undoubtedly lose due to lack of financial backing (unless he's really rich).

Independents do not count in this process. They don't really count in the general elections either ~ they are a thin fringe. There are, however, many Democrats who claim they are INDEPENDENTS because that gets them off the mailing lists and the telephone calls. Republicans can be found who will do this too, but to a lesser degree.

Effectively, when you count the Democrats with the Independents you come up with more than there are Republicans. However, Republicans continue to win elections on a broad basis by appealing to their base AND to different factions within the Democrat base (depending on district and part of the country).

Political parties pay for internal polls ~ the results of which they never reveal. That polling is much more precise and meaningful than the public polls which are usually conducted by and on behalf of political interest groups.

Most of the polls matching up Obama and various Republican candidates are done for the purpose of manipulating Republican opinion.

It was so that health care providers in America could treat those across the border and get paid for it from the Mexican Nationals.

A lot of people in the United States don’t realize it but there are lots and lots of Mexican Nationals who actually have money. They spend their money here in Texas.
If you go to the Valley (south Tx), you will see Mexican Nationals here shopping and vacationing. And they come to Houston to be treated for medical conditions also. Our Hospitals, Doctors and Clinics are better than most of theirs. I did some work for a Houston Plastic Surgeon and was surprised at how many people from Mexico were coming here for ? facelifts ? boob jobs?

They are legally here vacationing, shopping or getting medical care and they pay for it with their own money in US Dollars.

I sold a house one time to a couple from Mexico. It was their vacation home here in Texas. It was a huge Mediterranean on several acres. It was pricey.

The malls in south Tx are full of Mexican Nationals spending money like crazy.

All Mexicans are not illegals and all Mexicans are not poor.

In fact, Mexico is one of Texas biggest importers and trade partners. They buy a lot from Texas.

I think you are correct to a certain degree,however, you leave out one fact. There are simply a very large group of people who do not pay attention to politics every day. Most of these people are simply too busy. They do not follow the daily developments of the political scenes. I know many people in this category. Theses people are what we call the Independents. They often do not consider themselves particularly Republican or Democrat, although they may lean one way more than the other. The party that ignores them usually loses, in fact, it always loses.

Since your typical Independent is, in fact, a Democrat voter our best course of action is to suppress their vote ~ simply don't encourage them to ever show up ~ particularly not in the primaries!

Maybe you are right about that; I don't know. All I can say is that I feel like Karl Rove did his best to give her bad advice, and that angers me when I think that.

You are right that Sarah Palin has done a lot for the conservative cause these last few years. She is also a wonderful historical figure that has done a lot for our party and our country. I hope she will be able to continue those contributions as only a woman like she can do.

Wrong. I have not heard a single Perry supporter run Palin down. The turd is more correctly some Palin supporters who act more like rabid paul supporters in contrast to the honest and honorable way Palin has conducted herself.

For one I have from day one wanted Palin to run, her wishy-washy game has reduced her in my eyes, but I can understand her emphasis is on her family’s welfare.

How this phony fraud Perry fooled so many is really hard to believe. Perry has a curious string of unbroken wins in Texas that would be hard to achieve elsewhere....plus a mighty presidential war chest of million and millions of dollars, apparently accumulated when he said he WAS NOT running for president.

Watching him in action, I get the feeling Texans don't have much say in the matter of Perry being elected to anything in Texas.......and he's climbing over the backs of Americans to achieve his presidential ambitions.

BACKSTORY Perry did not officially enter the Iowa straw poll......but he calculatedly timed throwing his hat in the ring on the same day Bachman won the Iowa straw poll----stomping all over Bachman's hard-won victory.

Perry cunningly manipulated the Iowa vote from Texas. That strategy was supposed to put him over the top. Instead he got a pathetic 700-800 write-ins ...while Iowa winners who did the right thing-—spending time and money there-—— got 4000 votes each.

The Perrydactyl's were cued to "say" Ricky won Iowa. And there Perry was----front and center---waving to Iowans, taking pics in front of prominent Iowa banners---manipulating the media to make it look like he was the winner.

Sucking up to illegals is a HUGE game-changer for Perry. Fox news clip showed Frank Luntz's responders as resoundingly pro-Perry UNTIL amnesty raised its ugly head. The responders suggested that Perry's sucking up to illegals disqualifies him for the presidency. The Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is in a contentious fight with the state of Arizona over its controversial Mexican-American Studies program---known as “raza studies,”---- agit-prop of the far left La Raza, coming to a school near you. A state law went into effect in Arizona on January 1, 2011, banning the teaching of ethnic studies in K-12 schools. It was prompted by an investigation into TUSD’s ethnic studies curriculum by Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne when he was State Superintendent of Schools.

The program is known as “raza studies,” which means race studies, championed by organizations like the far left organization National Council of La Raza. The course does not simply teach Latino youth about their heritage, it goes well beyond that. The textbooks teach Latino youth that they are mistreated by America, training them to become radical anti-American activists.

Textbooks include “The Pedagogy of the Oppressed” and “Occupied America.” Another text "gloats over the difficulties our country is having at enforcing its immigration laws." Benjamin Franklin is vilified as a racist. White people are referred to as “gringos” and “oppressors” of Latino people. “Privilege” is described as related to a person’s ethnicity.

At a TUSD school board meeting on May 10, one upset mother read excerpts from the textbook An Epic Poem: " My land is lost and stolen, My culture has been raped......we have to destroy capitalism…overthrow a government that has committed abuses….to the bloodsuckers, the parasites, the vampires who are the capitalists of the world: The schools are tools of the power structure that blind and sentence our youth to a life of confusion, and hypocrisy, one that preaches assimilation and practices institutional racism."--SNIP--

I believe if Thompson had half the energy to campaign as Perry does he would be President. He was very likable but didn't put in the effort. I supported him but he waited too long and couldn't pull it together in time.

That would make sense because we are trying to win an election against Obama and she is doing Greta’s show sniping away at our side.That would naturally make all supporters of the six candidates now running dislike her more and more. Hence her own favorability drops.

I learned my lesson in the 2008 election. I believed posts like yours, ignored the media polls and woke up Wed morning with a President Barack Hussein Obama.

I'm talking about polls for example 13 months before an election. I'm not talking about the final election polls and polls close to an election.
