You live in NYC? Well that explains a lot. You are projecting to the rest of the nation (do you think there are 57 states) with typical NY know it all arrogance what you have noticed in your bubble. Nothing about your bubble resembles any other part of America in the least.

In the majority of the country where hispanic labor is a major force, the majority are from Mexico and their habits and beliefs are indeed somewhat homogenous. At least homogenous enough to where this poll on this particular issue, where the conventional wisdom would have led us to believe they think otherwise, is at least worthy of mention.

Besides, from a practical standpoint, we know how NYC will vote for the next 500 years. Talk about homogenous.

You call me arrogant and then make one of the more pompous statements I’ve ever encountered on Free Republic. As far as your “Mexicans” making up a major work force, are you including illegals who “supposedly” do work Americans won’t do. Categorizing people is counterproductive and comes from the TOTALLY LIBERAL MINDSET that denies individuality. Liberals NEED to group people together because then they can show that THEY know what’s better for that group. I don’t buy the “hispanic” thing and I don’t buy the hyphenated American thing. Stop accepting liberal premisees and challenge them. Don’t let them dictate EVERY argument. Oh yeah...I guess you missed that Bob Turner election, huh?

How much do you know about the hispanic poulation of New Mexico and Southern Colorado? In this region the majority have been there since the 1500’s when Spain controled the area. Most if not all of these families have no ties to Mexico, and tend to despise illegals with a passion. Try calling one of these people Mexican. You may end up missing a few teeth. I know this because I was born and raised in Northern New Mexico and come from one of these families.
