I remember the issue about PT 109 not being under power at the time it was rammed - a real no no that has to be overlooked to make him a hero, and I hold his post collision actions in high regard.
Combat zones are combat zones. People make mistakes in dangerous environments, but it is how they take measures to preserve life and property thereafter that matters most. Agree that Kennedy’s actions to keep his men alive despite any potential negligence is what supersedes anything else in the PT 109 situation.
