When the initial buzz about Rick Perry started getting louder and louder this summer, I asked a friend of mine, who is a longtime veteran of Republican politics, what I should expect from the Texas governor who was trying to become our party's next nominee for president. The response was quick and to the point: Rick Perry is George Bush on crack, just wait. So far, I don't necessarily agree that Rick Perry is George Bush on crack, but he could definitely be described as George Bush 2.0. He is also a phenomenon that has quickly attracted intense interest and high poll numbers that continue to climb (he is currently, in most polls, the Republican frontrunner). All of it, I quite frankly do not understand. I feel like a character in The Emperors New Clothes, but instead of pointing out that the emperor isnt wearing any clothes, I am pointing out that this person is in every way unelectable on a national scale.
Who exactly are we kidding here? Do we really think possibly nominating George Bush 2.0 is going to fly with independents in a post-Obama era? Why as Republicans are we are more concerned with retaining our moral high ground in picking a candidate who hits every qualification of a true conservative litmus test than thinking about the national stage of a general election? Why do we still, after all this time, and in all the ways that the world is changing, continue to put a politician front and center who has very little crossover appeal?

If the spawn of McStain doesn’t like Rick then he can’t be all bad.
That’s not saying much.
This endorsement is bigger then Jingle’s.
I don’t think that it would be possible, with all the people out of work, thank mac daddy, she may not be qualified.
~TIN FOIL HAT descends and settles onto head, little beanie propeller begins to spin madly as tinfoil glows red~
I'm worried about Perry for his past as an illegal immigrant apologist and as an opposing force to the fence. That smacks of Bush/Clinton/Obama globalism. I like Bachmann but she's not getting the needed traction. If Ron Paul weren't such a loon on foreign policy and terrorism/war he'd be perfect. I also like Herman Cain and he'd perfectly blunt the race card, but I also worry about his so called 9-9-9 plan for the economy. Obviously Romney is a NO-GO for being a prize RINO. Rick Santorum would be fine, though -- but he's not getting much traction either. I'm just afraid that the CFR elites have already put the spin in motion to get their guy elected as they have since the 1930s. They're probably mad at Obozo for costing them so much moola but the fix is in somewhere else I'll wager.
~Propeller slows, tinfoil stops glowing and hat lifts off head~ WHEW!
Even the Dog Whisperer can't teach a dog to bag groceries without mashing the bread much less serve hot coffee without spilling it all over everybody.
Finally!! I’ve been waiting breathlessly to hear this bimbo’s opinion of the GOP candidates. I’ll be able to sleep tonight. sigh
WHY ARE WE DISCUSSING THIS BIMBETTE FOR ANY REASON???????
Someone please tell her that her dad was the loser and that he is the reason we are stuck with the commie in the WH?
Is this an endorsement from Meghan McCain for Mittens? That says quite a lot.
They're right!
Well that seals it for me.
Go Perry! You da man!
Good one.
Oh, just stick another Ding Dong in your mouth and shut up, Meggie.
Meghan McCain doesn’t like him?
(Another + in Perry’s column)
That's not fair.
To Bob Dole. He never flirted with being the Democrat candidate for Vice President, or sponsored a law that made it a felony to run a commercial criticizing him.
Meghan McCain is Lady Gaga 2.0.
She is worse than a RINO.
She is openly Liberal.
Do NOT for one minute think that she is Conservative or Republican because of her genetics.
With all these people hating him maybe I’ll vote for him again. I have several times in the past.....:)
