Michele Bachmann is on the defensive about comments she made earlier this week suggesting that a vaccine against a virus linked to cervical cancer poses a danger to young girls.
"During the debate, I didn't make any statements that would indicate that I'm a doctor, I'm a scientist or that I'm making any conclusions about the drug one way or another," the GOP presidential hopeful told reporters here who questioned her about the story she told suggesting that the vaccine had caused mental retardation. Asked whether she would apologize for comments that outraged medical experts say will discourage parents from getting their children immunized, Bachmann said: "Oh, I'm not going to answer that."
During the Republican debate Bachmann attacked her rival Rick Perry for mandating vaccinations against the human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) for Texas school girls - a decision that the Texas legislature later overruled.
"To have innocent little 12-year-old girls be forced to have a government injection through an executive order is just flat out wrong," she said during the debate.
After the debate, Bachmann took her critique a step further, describing in several television interviews how a tearful mother had approached her after the debate saying that her daughter "suffered mental retardation" as a result of the vaccine.

VP Spiro Agnew got caught taking groceries.
Doesn't sound like a lot but he was getting a brown grocery bag full of prime steaks once a week ~ for something like 20 years!
This grocery store buddy of Perry's? Anyone know what his gift giving is like?

First of all, you should have searched "HPV vaccine" and "mental retardation" in order to weed out irrelevant hits. Second, most of the 333,000 that result are duplicates of the same story. Not only that, but the second article on the very first page this search brought up was an article DEBUNKING any Gardasil-retardation link.
Looks like folks need to be a little more diligent in their Google searching.

So, Merck is going to provide a different report at a government website than they passed off to this particular organization?

I'm unaware of anyone fact checking Perry's $5,000 claim and finding a different amount. Are you aware of some fact checking that says otherwise? If so, please share it with us. --
--
Now if only you could cut and paste the facts showing how much money Perry received from Merck as a quid pro quo for issuing his EO on Gardasil. --
ROTFL.
I don't think many are accusing Perry of bribery. I haven't read a single post here that floats that accusation. He's no "Cold Cash" Jefferson.

I stopped placing my credibility in Mercola when the answer to every issued seemed to be buy his products.
I would go to CDC, FDA, M.D. Anderson over this.

Firstly, you said, Yeah, that $6,000 made all the difference in a campaign costing $30 million.
Then you asked, The rest of the money? What is that, exactly?
You then said, I'm unaware of anyone fact checking Perry's $5,000 claim and finding a different amount.
I have provided that information to you. You are free to make of it what you will but Perry did lie, he has received far more than the $5000 that he originally admitted to receiving.

the political establishment is going to be absolutely stunned when they learn how many people out there agree with her on this stuff

This type of rebuttal reminds me of some other groups that, supposedly have a mental disorder.
Dr. Blaylock and Mercola just present factual statistics, along with historical pathology and then gives their commentary. The are among the other great medical and health pioneers, such as Oneil, Gonzales, Brownstein, Wong., Jensen, Marshal, Beard, walker and Heil. They are honorably challenging the status quo, and their followers become less dependent on our health care system. This is what we should all desire.
Oh wait a second, I guess Thomas Edison and Ben Franklim were charlatans, too!

You would guess wrong ~ remember the Leftwingtards are focused primarily on your sex organs ~ they want them ~ they want to manipulate them ~ they want you to do what they do ~ and if life's experience has any value in this, the ol'gals from SDS are still out there passing around genital warts and VD to any and all.
After your sex organs they want your wallet.
Some of them want your children!
To: Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus
The HPV is not communicable other than by having sex, and as such, doesn't seem to present as much of an acute health risk, which makes it even less justifiable for forcible vaccination in my mind. Forcible Optional vaccination.
There, fixed that for you.

SANE Vax Inc. Discovers Potential Bio-hazard Contaminant in Mercks Gardasil HPV 4 Vaccine
September 12, 2011 By

SANE Vax Inc.
Gardasil victim found to have HPV DNA in her blood 2 Years Post-Vaccination
13 different vaccine vials 13 different lots of Gardasil from around the world tested
Results 100% contamination with HPV Recombinant DNA.
SANE Vax Inc. contracted with an independent lab to test for contamination and found HPV recombinant DNA (rDNA) in 13 vaccine vials. The Gardasil vials with different lot numbers were from New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Poland, France and three states in the U.S. 100% of the samples tested positive for the presence of the genetically modified HPV DNA.
Dr. Sin Hang Lee, a pathologist at the Milford Hospital pathology laboratory well-known for using cutting-edge DNA sequencing for molecular diagnoses, was initially contracted to examine a single sample of Gardasil for possible contamination. This sample tested positive for recombinant HPV-11 and HPV-18 residues, both of which were firmly attached to the aluminum adjuvant.
In a certified letter mailed to FDA Commissioner, Dr. Margaret Hamburg on August 29, 2011, SANE Vax Inc. requested the FDA investigate the extent of the HPV DNA contamination in the Gardasil HPV4 vaccine currently on the market and take appropriate actions to ensure public safety regarding future shipments. 1.
Why Did SANE Vax Inc. Investigate Possible Gardasil Contamination?
The mother of a sexually naïve adolescent girl who developed acute onset Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis within 24 hours of her last injection of the Gardasil series contacted SANE Vax Inc. looking for more information.
In an effort to help her now very sick daughter the mother went to an MD practicing naturopath who conducted a toxicity test that eventually found HPV DNA in the girls blood. The significance of this finding is that it is highly unusual to find HPV DNA in the blood. HPV, if present in the body, exists in the epithelial (skin and mucosa) membranes. HPV or its DNA, by itself does not survive for any great length of time in the bloodstream. Why was the HPV DNA in her bloodstream two years post-vaccination?
Natural vs. Recombinant DNA
According to Dr. Lee, Natural HPV DNA does not remain in the bloodstream for very long. However, the HPV DNA in Gardasil is not natural DNA. It is a recombinant HPV DNA (rDNA) genetically engineered to be inserted into yeast cells for VLP (virus-like-particle) protein production. rDNA is known to behave differently from natural DNA. It may enter a human cell, especially in an inflammatory lesion caused by the effects of the aluminum adjuvant, via poorly understood mechanisms.
Once a segment of recombinant DNA is inserted into a human cell, the consequences are hard to predict. It may be in the cell temporarily or stay there forever, with or without causing a mutation. Now the host cell contains human DNA as well as genetically engineered viral DNA.

Frankly I actually like to see that at least one candidate in the race has the moral courage to stand by what she says. Her making highly erroneous, ignorant claims is bad enough. What's worse is to stand by and reinforce the blunder after the facts (i.e. TRUTHS) have been made more than abundantly clear.
There's nothing moral about doubling down on making an idiot out of yourself. "I stand by my stupidity" is not courageous, it's buffoonery - for which she's paying a well deserved price.

“Ascribing your own words to other posters will get you nowhere, it only makes you look weak.”
Perhaps you missed the question mark at the end of my question. Since it WAS a question that I asked, by it’s very nature, I am not ascribing anything to anyone.
It’s called a “question” for a reason.
I do not know of this “Mitt Perry” of which you speak. Is he friends with Sarah McCain?

If you want to say "no connection" you have to prove it ~ just as much as someone who says "is a connection".
I've done neither. In fact, I'm using Merck's own study published on a commercial website just so the gub'mnt didn't take the opportunity to edit out the parts "they" don't like. With a Stalinist battleaxe like Sibelius in charge of such things these days you really can't be too careful ~

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to denigrate any particular reputable study. Just noting that more extensive and recent tests are referenced at the CDC and FDA sites.
My apologies.

Its not a religious issue, and I strongly suspect fighting the virus that causes cervical cancer is a good thing.Butbutbut don't you understand that Gardasil will turn teenaged girls into sluts? We all know how teenagers fixate on long-term consequences, and the possibility of cervical cancer 30 years down the line is much, much more of a deterrent than HIV, herpes, chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea. Besides, just look at the way seat belts and air bags turned teenagers into reckless drivers.
To: magritte
Having read through a whole big bunch of Hep C and Hep B reports (on the net) I think the conclusion is that NOT ALL CASES can be related to blood or bodily fluid contact ~ which is a real good reason to get the vaccinations.
To: mazz44
Perry's liberal defenders attack anyone who dares disagree with their chosen candidate's views regardless how right on an issue that person may be.
It was wrong for Perry to mandate Gardasil vaccinations in the state of Texas and it was wrong for the California legislature to allow 12-year-old girls to make their own medical decisions. Given what we know about Perry's liberal supporters had he signed an EO that would have accomplished what the California legislature has just done they would be defending that too.

I am sick of Bachmann screeching about ONE issue. The rest of the more urgent issues are on the backburner. Perry apologized...let’s move on...btw..I am not happy with Bachmann’s vote to subsidize ethanol and still say she had her hands in the till. Voting to subsidize ethanol was a huge mistake.
