she stands more to lose from running now than if she kept up her current public role and looked to stand for President in 2016 or 2020. I think that if she were to do that, she would be almost unstoppable.

Might be too late by then. If Obama gets re-elected, our nation is a lost cause. If a Republican gets in, he/she will either be re-elected in 2016 or a Democrat will take over again. That puts us out to 2020 or 2024.

In the game of life, you've got to grab opportunity when you can because there is no guarantee you'll have the same opportunity later. I think this is Palin's time.

I have to respectfully disagree. If Sarah Palin runs how, she won’t be grabbing opportunity, she’ll be grabbing defeat.

Oceander has serious PDS, accusing fellow freepers of being in a “cult” and not conservative. I guess he thinks this will “move and convince” us?
Palin will add SO much to the debate, win or lose, she really needs to run. I believe she runs and if she does she wins it all.
Hark! I don’t belittle Perry and his supporters for existing.

-- If Obama gets re-elected, our nation is a lost cause. --

I could embrace an Obama re-election, if it is coupled with a conservative take-over of Congress. Congress makes the laws, and Congress can impeach and remove a president.

Not that I wish for an Obama re-election, just that I view a properly-functioning Congress (which we do not have) as more influential, by far, on economic and domestic policy, than the president.

In fact, a weak president puts pressure on Congress, to function.
