What's really disappointing and destructive is to see honest differences of opinion characterized as bad faith and hatred. It's a low tactic. I'm sick of it.

If she keeps up the drumbeat on Obama, democrats, and liberals in general, then I'm all for her because she does a da&n fine job at that - it's what she does best, sort of the way that Gingrich has been doing in the debates. The two of them would make a deadly tag-team set of kingmakers.

if she announces that she's running because she doesn't believe a Republican can win otherwise - and I'd say that if she announces, assuming that she'll announce as a Republican is not necessarily a safe assumption - then I'll really start to question her good judgment.

Funny thing, I've seen precious few Palin-haters here, but I've seen more pretend "conservatives" here acting like some bizarre Palin cult of personality than I can really stomache.

I figure you mean this in the sense that the outcome is Palin winning the general election, but as I think about this, she can modify GOP chances by running, and not even winning the nomination. Reagan lost the party's nomination in 1976, the party ran Ford against Carter.

Of course, if she gets in, I believe it would be with "all in" intentions. Just ruminating that as time marches on, the outcome of her losing the nomination does not take her off the political stage.

A Perry or Romney loss to Obama (or whoever the DEMs run) would be a massive setback to the GOP establishment.

Frankly, I don’t think she would announce so close to that stalker author and his accusations about her sex life and marriage having been leaked out to the press. Too close in proximity to make a Presidential announcement. If she is going to do it at all, I would expect it to be the end of the month. If she promised to do it on this radio show, today isn’t the only day she has to go on the show. She could just as easily go on it two weeks from now. Doubt she will run.

Re McGinnis, I think it would be a mistake for her to respond. These charges were so scurrilous and ungrounded, they don’t deserve a response from her. That is what staff (and sometimes family) are for. If she wants to be prez, she needs to act the part. Respond to political issues and criticisms? OK (most of the time). Personal rumor stuff? Doesn’t deserve her response. Why sell books for the ahole?
