Fresh off Sunday nights taser-fueled fan violence at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, the NFL will conduct pat downs from the ankles up this season.
In the past, the pat downs went from the waist up.
The enhanced security procedures recommended by our office before the start of the season will further increase the safety of fans but will require some additional time, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told USA T0day in a statement Thursday. We encourage fans to come early, enjoy their tailgating tradition, and be patient as they enter the stadium.

What's an "ur"? Or was it supposed to read "tazeur" (whatever that is)?
I’m a Pats fan, and I can honestly say I would never wish for injury on another player like that. My heart breaks for Peyton Manning, and I find being a football fan more exciting when there is real competition on the field. If my team can only win because there is no one with any talent to play against, where is the fun in that? Your attitude is contrary to what sportsmanship is about, IMO. Sorry, that’s just how I see it.
short for your
Jesus Christ guys. I was going more for the pun “Pat down” than anything. Don’t take yourselves so seriously!
Actually, New York fans have become much more subdued and civilized over the years. Jets fans can still be pretty unruly, but even then that’s a dramatic improvement over what they used to be like. One of the things driving this is that tickets for almost all of the New York sports teams have become prohibitively expensive in recent years — which tends to filter out a lot of the undesireable types.
Welcome to English of 21st century.
If you want to one up Nappy just start a campaign to not attend any NFL games this year. If it had a big enough impact on ticket sales the NFL would quietly get rid of this.
Billions and billions of dollars from sports that they want to kill too? Can you imagine?
Ugh! Keep it up and we won’t be able to shop at our grocery without a friendly grope from the local “authorities”.
KMA MF’s!
If you text, u mk it shrt!:)
My guess is that they would rather have you drinking their $10 drinks versus sneaking your own supply in...
I have never been to an NFL game. I will not ever go to one now.
About four years ago, I had just bought a new Gerber multi tool. I always wear one and is part of my normal dress. I went to a Titans game and after parking far outside LP field and walking over a mile, I was not allowed in with my multi tool. I was told I could throw it away or take it back to my car. I ended up hiding it nearby. The gate Nazi realized I could not possibly have returned that quickly and did a very thorough search. That was the last NFL game I will ever attend.
Good plan. The last time I went to an NFL game, the tickets cost $4. And I had season tickets. $28 for 6 season games plus one pre-season exhibition. I don't miss it at all.
OMG. R U serious?
ur sitting here using a computer - and ur that computer illiterate?
ROTFLMAO.
And I'm, not, by the way, a young whippersnapper. I'm a great granny, so age has nothing to do with keeping up. (And WTF does not stand for Win the Future ;o)...)
Our Police State continues to expand. The question is will this put a number of fans off from attending?
$4 for a game? LOL! Was that before or just after the Packers won their first Super Bowl?
.....because drunkenness, rivalries, and auto accidents never happen while tailgating in the parking lot.
