Solyndra, the solar panel company whose highly publicized failure and consequent investigation by federal authorities has flashed across headlines recently, isn't the only business to go belly up after benefiting from a piece of the $800 billion economic stimulus package passed in 2009.
At least four other companies have received stimulus funding only to later file for bankruptcy, and two of those were working on alternative energy.

Wonder about the ethanol entrepeneurs, too. A farmer kinda gave the impression that most of them also took the money and ran.

'Green Energy' is a chimera and definitely not economically feasible. Solar, wind, tidal, and cold fusion are all nonstarters for various technical reasons and are not competitive with carbon based energy sources absent massive government subsidies that go well past 'start up costs'. Good intentions and wishing will not change that picture.

I can’t take credit for first usage, but certainly its more than appropriate as this scandal has legs. And much worse than travelgate and filegate given the amounts of money and ties to political contributors.
