Washington (CNN) - Todd Palin released a scathing statement late Wednesday about author Joe McGinniss, whose new book about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has grabbed internet and tabloid headlines, as well as received harsh criticism from The New York Times.
In a statement distributed to members of the media, Palin's husband said the book "is full of disgusting lies, innuendo and smears."
"This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife," Palin said. "His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears. Even The New York Times called this book 'dated, petty,' and that it 'chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.'"
McGinniss' book, "The Rogue," is set for publication next week and is the latest work from the bestselling author who first rose to national prominence with "The Selling of the President 1968," which described the marketing of Richard Nixon during the 1968 campaign. He subsequently wrote a crime trilogy and two controversial books about the Kennedy family.

There’s really only one way to settle it once and for all, and it’s called a libel lawsuit.
Nah...u give him way to much manhood ability to even attempt such....lol
I think it reflects poorly on Todd if he allows those type of allegations to go unanswered, and as a result reflects poorly on Palin. She decided to marry the man, and what type of man is he?...
yeah...that’s interesting....cause one of Sarah’s planks will certainly be a less litigous climate....so not sure how that would work well.
Very good point, Samantha.
You are absolutely right on marriage angle for sure. Todd Rocks!
JOURNOLISTA: “Sure I know he wasn’t born in Hawaii and the BC is a fake, and sure I know he didn’t write either book, and sure I know no one’s ever seen a transcript, a grade, a medical report, and sure I know he did and sold crack, and he’s a closet homo,.........but WE’RE NOT INTERESTED! HE’S ONE OF OURS!”
I agree about lawsuits. Even if Sarah’s status as public figure limits her own pursuits in this arena, there are others, like family members and friends who were also smeared. I hope they bring holy hell down on this sub-human cretin, McGinnis.
Although, to be perfectly honest, I’m not generally keen on lawsuits, and feel instances like this are much better addressed through old-fashioned “frontier justice.” The scumbags at MSNBC and elsewhere are just as morally guilty for spreading this character assassination.
No, they won’t “love this” - this book and its author are despicable and possibly psychotic. I do think Sarah should make a quick statement denouncing this fifth-rate hit job and be done with it after then.
Exactly. There was also a time in this country when a man would defend a woman's honor by punching a lout like McGinnis in the snout...not talking about Todd, but just any honorable man.
"You McGinnis?"
"Yes..."
ZOT!
Levi Johnston’s book comes out next week as well....I would think her official slam will be a combination hit.
I am GLAD Mr. Palin (one of the luckiest people on Earth) stood up for his wife!
And he definitely IS!!!

Sarah Palin has nothing to fear; the McGinnis book is an embarrassment: Juvenile in tone, awkward in execution, alternately slipshod/creepy.

No, I'm talking about McGinniss' book becoming the "source" as all the little RATs start spreading his carp as truth.
But, on the positive side, the libs can no longer claim Sarah hates black people...
And yet you show up on every Palin thread there is, Paultard.
