The global economy is being held back in part by political problems that are complicating an Delivering Alpha array of other forces that have conspired against growth, US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said.
Speaking during the "Delivering Alpha" conference—organized by CNBC and Institutional Investor—Geithner said the US recovery is slower than many would like and that's not being helped by chaos in Washington.
"You have this terribly damaging political dysfunction here and in Europe that leaves the world wondering whether the political system has the capacity to do the right thing," he said. "That is very damaging to confidence."
If we would only give socialism a chance, get congress out of the way, it would work!
Did he have a mirror stapled to his face when he said this.

I do wonder if the politicians have the will to do the right thing and cut spending. Sadly, I see no front runners for 2012 that have that will either.

Good diagnosis, Dr. Timmy. Now why don’t you prescribe the obvious cure? A dysfunctional political system has NO BUSINESS trying to run a $2.5 trillion health care system. Putting such a complex system in the hands of such politicians quite obviously is going to be terribly damaging. Prescription: repeal Obamacare ASAP!!!!
