What I’ve seen is that you needed to submit your child’s personal information online, then wait for weeks for a form for you to fill out. But as part of the process you would have had to swear that you were a conscientious objector to vaccines in general. That would have led your health insurance company to increase your premiums. Also, schools could have kept your kid out of attendance while you were waiting for your forms. Then, in a couple of years, you’d have had to go through the process all over again.

I guess Texans just should have been grateful to Perry for not requiring them to personally travel to Austin and for having made the initial form requests available online!

FR is supposed to be a conservative site, but to hear people defending this here, you’d get the idea that a good number of FReepers have somehow missed that point!

The blank for is available online. It is possible to assert a conscientious objection to one or more vaccines, but not all of them (cafeteria style objection is enabled by statute). The affidavit must be sent to the state government, and after they approve the request, the state grants a waiver that is good for two years. Turnaround time is supposed to be a couple weeks, total.

And some schools, mostly private schools, would reject admission unless all government vaccines were administered. IOW, the schools do not accept anybody who obtains a legal vaccination waiver. Public schools do not have that latitude.

Boy do I know what you mean. I feel like I'm on DU or something. “If we can just save one life” where have I heard that before?

I only bring this up because the people supporting this EO seem to think it's ok due to the opt out rule. I really object to having to submit your child's personal information to the government. and then wait for the governments PERMISSION to not get this shot. good grief
