See my tagline.
That’s good. Wish I’d thought of it.
I hope you are correct about Issa. I hope he’s setting a perjury trap, while talking nice and “asking” for documents.
“dumber than Iran-Contra,”
Oliver North and John Poindexter’s convictions were both overturned on Appeal, mainly because of seperation of powers. Congress (under the Boland Amendment) does not have the power to legislate the Executive’s power to conduct Foreign Policy. Lousy journalism or ideology partisanship not to mention that. North’s was overturned do to his partial immunity to testify to Congress.
Exactly, notice how everything he does is out in clear air and following the rules, he is painting them into a corner and they are opening fresh cans everyday helping him
OPPS!
do = due
No.

“...It has been accomplished before by men of fewer resources than have we...”
Different time, with different people, who were basically unified in their cause.
We’ve got “aggrieved and oppressed” minorities who are primed and ready for race war, being egged on by a fedgov that wants class war so they can kick off their program of eradication of the final vestiges of Americanism.
It’s NOT the same now as it was then.
“...then the American people themselves have the duty ( not just a right) to enforce them...”
When? I’m waiting for it. Cops on our side? Fed Marshalls? State Police forces? Who? Anybody rushing to DC with handcuffs and leg irons to put the perps in an orange jump suit and frog march perp walk? Military stepping in and arresting these creeps yet?
Nope.
“..the establishment of citizen committees of correpondence. ...”
Hell, half the people in this country have no frigging clue what those even were, anymore. They’re more concerned that Simon Cowell is coming back on TV for another season of bubbleheaded idiots believing they’re the next American Idol. These are the same drooling fools who voted the American Communist Insurgency, otherwise known as the Democrat Party, into power.
“...the price for our continued liberty will be paid in the blood of patriots...”
Count on it. But it’s much more preferrable that the other side bleeds for what they believe in. We NEED our people to rebuild the country.
Not trashing what you believe, Candor. For the record, I hope YOU’RE right. But I just don’t see it happening.
Apathy is why we’re here.
Here’s a response I posted to “Jayrunner 9-12-2011”. Take a read through if your inclined to. It’s on this same topic. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2777094/posts?page=46#46
FYI Issa ping
I agree with you 100%. They are going after Issa tooth and nail right now...except there is nothing to go aftr him for. He is a pit bull. This ain’t going away, and it won’t get swept under the rug.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Affirmative Action in, well, action.
Holder is dangerous in addition to being inept.
Apathy is indeed here. LOL. But that can change very, very quickly. As it did in 1772.
Holder is a stone cold liar. That’s all.
He’s not stupid. He’s not inept. He’s just a manipulator and liar. You can tell when he’s lying - his lips are moving.
The Department of Justice was monitoring the weapons...
No, they weren't. No provisions were made to "monitor" the weapons, at all. Indeed, recognizing this, one ATF agent bought two tracking GPS devices from Radio Shack out of his own pocket. The batteries failed before they could provide any information, though.
Both arms sales to Iran and funding of the Contras was explicitly prohibited by law, and Reagan national security advisers Oliver North and John Poindexter were convicted of violating the law.
A law, the Bohlen Amendment, which was subsequently found to be unconstitutional.
Translation:
We think we have shredded all the hard copies left in existence, wiped the drives, and transferred people around like a three card monte game. We're pretty sure you aren't going to be able to find much unless someone rolls, and we have them all wiretapped with the 'accident' team on call.
That's my take, too. The wider the foundation, the taller the pyramid will reach.
But even then, it took more. It took the French Navy to pin Cornwallis to the shore at Yorktown and keep the British from pulling him and his troops off to fight another day.
Now, add a dimension: the air.
Without the serious and generally unanimous support of the active military, or a decision to sit it out, no land based army would have a chance to prevail, hypothetically speaking, of course.
