Sarah Palin says she is not afraid to call out fellow Republicans when she thinks they have been "part of the problem." On Monday night, Palin accuses Republican candidate for President Rick Perry of engaging in "crony capitalism." Perry, as governor of Texas, mandated that young girls get a vaccination for the HPV virus in an executive order. Perry is criticized for this in part because of his connections to the drug manufacturer Merck.

You fool, its Medicaid vaccine program !
“...if this $5 or 6 thousand that Perry got from Merck is his best example of crony capitalism, he’s not very good at crony capitalism.”
Exactly. What I very much like about Perry is that he freely admitted he made a mistake in how he went about this. We don’t see that often among politicians.
This would be in STARK contrast to Romney who WILL NOT admit that he was wrong about his healthcare plan in Massachusetts.
Busted like a blister.

She endorsed Perry for Texas Governor as the better candidate. Wouldn’t read anything more into it than that.
Gov. Goodhair is something of a Blago of the South.
Since you have already committed yourself to flat out lies and libel, why don't you just go ahead and accuse him of pedophilia and murder too? Then go back to DU and yuck it up with your fellow travelers.
Perry is not pure, but that is no reason to make the AP and MSNBC look honest in comparison to your evaluations of him.
Earlier in the day we had been told that Romney and Bachmann were going to gang up on Perry regarding SS. That didn’t seem to materialize but it seems they ganged up on him on the Guardisil issue instead. It does look like Bachmann and Romney are a tag team.
I don’t think anything was overdone. For the first time the candidates debated the Gardasil issue with passion and let the lines be drawn. I found it refreshingly candid. Perry’s explanation last night fell short of his previous comments on the issue. HE fell down. Whoever prepared him for last night did an awful job right along with Perry...alas, that is just one issue and he appears contrite on it.
Best debate so far. Loved the TEA Party questions.
The answer is obvious to any honest person, that Gov. Perry did it to help fight cancer and hold down future medical costs (not make money, reward a company (Merck contributes $Millions to political groups yearly) - encourage girls to become sexually active or even suggest that they do). The best time to administer the HPV vaccine is when girls are young (they can contract this cancer from their husbands get oral cancer thank you Bill Clinton for your part in making America's youth think oral sex isn't sex).
About deaths from vaccines over 400 people die yearly in the U.S. alone from penicillin allergies. All medicine carries risks -- have you watched an Rx commercial disclaimer lately?
And it was opt out. The governors EO allowed easier payment due to insurance restrictions. And it was not opposed by Dr. David Stevens, CEO of the Christian Medical Association.
“Were any laws broken? Does this differ from the behavior of any other candidate?”
But Mom... everybody else was doing it”.

The title of the over edited tape does NOT mention the term “ Crony Capitalism “ . The tape title is “ Govt Waste”.
———Palin had her chance-——
My view is that her chance is yet to come. She is relatively young. She has plenty of time to age and become wiser and more experienced and President.

Palin’s bashing of “big oil” is getting a little old, too. She sounds like a Democrat. We need “big oil”, we don’t need to demonize them like the RATs.
So Perry, little known outside of the South, gets in a few weeks before Palin, who already has universal name recognition, and somehow he’s in in time but she’s too late?
We’re five months from having the first primary vote cast and six weeks from the first filing deadline. Palin has clearly said she has not decided not to run, so what’s your rush? Why are you stating that she’s decided what she’s repeatedly said she hasn’t decided?
I thought that until last night. Michelle took some shots a Romney that no ally would.
We don't need another politician that would mandate inoculations of young girls that benefits one of his contributors. Especially abusing an executive order to do so.
If they only spend 19% on conservative candidates, what do they do with the other ninety percent? Can Palin use it for a run for president?
I think Perry opponents overstate the Gardasil matter (I am concerned with the mandate, not the measly $5K Perry's campaign chest got from Merck), but his supporters gotta stop the spin as well.
Palin is right, the revolving door between government and corporations is a big part of the mess we are in right now - look at Goldman Sachs and the Fed/Treasury.
Perry does carry that corporatist taint with him. Palin is one of the few politicians who has stood up to the establishment and won. Too many Perry supporters belittle that in her. But it is exactly what this country needs, and Perry needs to be more like Palin in that regard.
What was wrong with it?
oops, sorry, I meant 10%, Sorry.
