Problem is, in Texas, illegals pay state taxes--either directly through sales taxes, or indirectly by paying rent on property that pays property taxes. We don't have an income tax here, so illegals in Texas are no different from U.S. citizens when it comes to education expenses.

Whether you are illegal or legal, if you live in the state of Texas, you are paying for education, so why would you force them to pay out of state tuition?

Perry is exactly right on this. These kids did not bring themselves here, they were brought here. If they are in high school working hard with the aim of going to college, why shouldn't they pay in state tuition?

“These kids did not bring themselves here, they were brought here”

Please tell them to take that issue up with their parents then-—NOT the taxpayers.

These kids did not bring themselves here, they were brought here.

How do you know that?
