Ron Paul was roundly booed at the GOP debate after very unpopular comments about US foreign policies in the Arab world.
I think there’s a huge, HUGE difference between a vet privately saying that U.S. policies contributed to 9-11 and a sitting congressman going on national TV and falsely accusing US troops of murder to gain political points.
Not the same ballpark; not even the same planet.
Murtha served in uniform.
No difference at all.
If you can’t see a difference between a vet offering his opinion in a private capacity on a more-or-less anonymous message board and a sitting member of Congress stating that members of the military murdered civilians without any evidence on national television, I don’t know what to say.
Here you try to cut a distinction between veterans and congresscritters who previously served.
Sorry, no distinction exists.
Either you honor your country and the uniform you wore or you don't.
Murtha did not honor the uniform or the country he'd served.
Vets that behave as he did do not deserve respect as they are dishonoring their oaths of service AND their country.
Once upon a time it was called treason.
I said “courtesy”, not respect. Respect, IMO is earned; courtesy is freely given when due. I would treat the President with courtesy, but I have no respect for Mr. Obama.
The zotted poster did not pull the same crap as John Murtha. He made a stupid comment on a message board. Murtha deliberately attempted to destroy a group of soldiers’ lives and careers.
When due.
Dishonor your oath and your uniform and it is NOT due, thank you.
Glad to see him gone, after reading his posting history back to 2005, a relatively small number of replies really, that consist almost entirely of, “I’m in the military and you’re not, your opinion means nothing” and, “If you never served, you’re a chicken hawk, so shut up”.
I’m a vet and I served, a-holes like him, give the military a bad name.
Thanks. I’m glad I got the “arrogant” part right.
Thank you for your service. Men like you give the military a good name. :-D
Paul has gone much further over that line; saying those things and worse on Iran’s state tv.
RuPaul is not a lunatic. He knows what he’s doing: he works for the Left.
What does this say about GOP when Santorum is the only one who calls him out? Why is Paul in these debates and allowed to call himself “Republican?”
*Crickets*
Holy snot batman; that takes the cake. What a d-bag. I saw your post, btw and link.
As much as part of me might agree with some of the stuff he says, you don’t SAY such things to a state organ of a dictatorship; even a friendly one. My God. Just keep your mouth shut a-hole.
Well I’m done with him. I had some sympathies for the guy; not anymore. The 9/11 comment mostly erased those and now this seals the deal. A man that imprudent, no matter his political views doesn’t deserve to be President.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
Gosh, I’m really gonna miss him. ;’) :’D
Thanks TheOldLady.
Got attached to him, did ya? I know what you mean.
“unless it written by AIPAC”
Awww....those jooooooooos are always getting us into crap.
Army NG...what unit?
Screw that guy...i just perused his posting history.
1. He was obsessed with the evil of Israel...75 percent of his posts.
2. He posted as an expert in all matters military. When anybody disagreed, everybody got the “where did you serve”?
(BTW, he was proven wrong on several counts where he claimed expertise and other vets showed evidence of his errors.
3. Most importantly, right after 9 11, he is ranting about the US being at fault, blowback, etc.
F him and every other Paultard that dishonors our dead and our fighting men after 9 11.
...and if anybody knows the scum, tell him to quit crying and get the hell out of the military if he doesn’t like it....or quit crying and whining about it.
