I saw the GOP debate and the Greta interview with Palin and Bachman. I am absolutely against Perry's mandate of the Gardasil vaccine. On policy grounds. Period.
But, to see the two ladies pile on with corruption charges against Perry was truly disgusting. If they have any proof that Perry mandated the vaccine to profit Merck, I am the first one who wants it. And, if proof emerges that he did so, I will be the first one to revoke my support for him.
It happens in the industry all the time. Acquaintances get you an audience. So, in this case, the fact that Perry's previous staffer was a lobbyist must have gotten the meeting. A meeting to hear about this wonderous cancer curing drug. Nothing corrupt about it. Is there more to the reason Perry made such a call? Possible/Probable. Evidence of it? None so far.
Come on. Do Palin and Bachman have to resort to gutter politics to get themselves better positioned?

I am thinking the very same thing-the media is finding the weakest person. An honest conservative would not pile on the others who could or do bring out untrustworthy actions from in the party (even if some feelings get hurt).
Beg pardon but the vaccine had just come out and he was mandating by fiat. I am not sure that any other state has mandated it. If so why didn’t they make all males get it instead of all females?
Look, if Palin was in Perry’s position (and it would be worse) you would win the whine ribbon if Perry sniped from the trees for leaving office over media driven stories and ethics charges. You know, along the lines of all the tough talk and no show when the chips are down. All hat and no cattle. Those lines. How about if he said it will be for her a Nike endorsement for the chronic running shoes, or Goodyear for the chronically running bus tires. Unseemly. I wouldn’t like it if she were leading the race and someone did that. But, she isn’t even in the race.

It’s no contest. Sarah is a good, good person, a real FReeper, but not more than that. She has not darkened the powder room of a mainstream media venue, since her netheregion was handed to her during the campaign. Her goings on are slippery for ONE REASON. Fear. She trailed along the historic trail this summer hiding from fans and foes alike and sold it as cleverness designed to frustrate the media and hike her buzz for future celebrity. Gag. She does not want a re-do of Perky Katy. Because she is not shovel ready. Period.

I remember when it happened. This isn’t a normal vaccine, was new and barely tested and why does HE get to mandate it? He backpedaled after people raised cain. I am NOT anti Perry but he was wrong.

While I fervently hope my 17 yo daughter remains chaste until marriage (and I think she has a good chamce of it) I had her vaccinated with gardasil. I cannot guarantee she will never be raped (God forbid). I cannot also guarantee her future husband will have been chaste until marriage. Herpes infection is a major cause of cervical cancer and a threat to fertility. If I can spare her those complications with a vaccine, why wouldn’t I?
If Perry cannot explain his stance on this issue then he certainly will not be able to withstand REAL hard-hitting attacks that will come if he is the nominee.

Informed consent has precisely nothing to do with this silly brouhaha. Your suggestion to the contrary shows very clearly the degree to which you are unhinged on this subject. There is no comparison at all between requiring vaccinations as a condition of school attendance (which all 50 states do) and either Romneycare or Obamacare. The Gardasil flap is a manufactured controversy that won’t have the slightest influence on the primary campaign. But your hysteria, and that of others around here, is kind of fun to watch. Go ahead — gnash your teeth, foam at the mouth and generally go to town.
This is real simple. Either:
1. Perry was doing his friends at Merck a big favor
or
2. He is a complete imbecile.
Why would you stick your neck so far out over an unproven dangerous drug? Makes no sense. See 1 & 2 above.

Actually he kind of did... He screwed up when he said he couldn’t be bought for 5K, it was a stupid thing to say. The logical response (you know) is going to be, how about 6K... He needs to be better than that if he hopes to beat Obama.

Palin has handed the media their netherregions for quite some time now. Saying she hasn’t is not supported by reality, or the facts involved.
