UN: Death toll in Syria unrest at least 2,600

GENEVA (AP) — At least 2,600 people have died in the six months of unrest that has swept Syria, the U.N.'s top human rights official said Monday, as a panel was named to investigate abuses in the Arab country.

In a historical perspective, 2,600 people in war is next to NOTHING. That would have been a rough hour or so for our Marines when they were taking an island in the Pacific during WWII.
