Americans reject Tea Party ideas - Obama AFP September 13, 2011 1:22AM
PRESIDENT Barack Obama says the "vast majority" of Americans reject the ideas of the archconservative Tea Party movement.
"We've always had a anti-federal government bent in a chunk of our population. That's nothing new," Obama has told NBC News, referring to the anti-federal nature of the Tea Party, whose fervour swept in dozens of new Republican House of Representatives members in the 2010 mid-term elections.
Many of Obama's probable opponents in the next White House election, in 2012, also subscribe to that outlook, with frontrunner Texas Governor Rick Perry repeatedly vowing to get the national government out of people's lives.
"I do think that the extreme position that you hear that says government has no role to play in growing our economy, that the federal government has no function to play in building a strong middle class, is absolutely wrong," Obama said.
"I reject that view. And I think the vast majority of Americans reject that view."

So let me get this right, if the Tea Party supports the idea Obama should quit spending us into oblivion, they’re arch-Conservative?
Well then, there are an awful lot of Independents, Democrats, as well as Republicans who are arch-Conservative. No wonder the peckerhead is in the low 40s high 30s for approval ratings.
Knucklehead.
Which “americans” would that be Barry? Central or South?
RESIDENT Barack Obama says the “vast majority” of Americans reject the ideas of the archconservative Tea Party movement.
HUH?
Americans reject the Constitution?
Americans reject smaller Government less intrusion in their daily lives?
Americans reject lower taxes?
Americans reject a secure border and strong national defense?
Well Barack Obama I am an American and I embrace all of those things...............
I’m a TEA Party supporter and I am an American....not any kind of hyphenated American, either. If we start capitalizing TEA each time we write it and say, as if in parentheses, Taxed Enough Already, after each time we say it, perhaps the left won’t have such an easy time demonizing us. TEA is an acronym, not a word, as such. Almost every taxpaying, non-elite (and even lots of them) agrees that we are Taxed Enough Already. The leftist media doesn’t want non-TEA Partiers to know what it really stands for. We can inform them.
“We’ve always had a anti-federal government bent in a chunk of our population. That’s nothing new,”
Well, he’s right there. I mean, the chunk led by Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, etc - they definitely had that anti-federal government bent.
We’ll see about that 0. What Americans are sick of is the class warfare, your union thugs and the race card. We are sick of you stealing our money. That’s what Americans reject.
And just to make sure we're covered, I will disrespectfully reject the view of the RAT bastard, kenyan socialist commie pig-in-chief, 0dumb0 bin Laden.
The dude is smoking some shite.
Unfortunately, we, here in Ohio, have to endure another visit of this ass clown tomorrow.
The War of 2012 has just begun! We are ready, we are able and we shall prevail!
I think the reason that liberals act as if the 2010 elections didn’t happen is that they still have faith in the mainstream media to successfully purvey their lies.
The media shilled for liberals in all the 2010 contests, and had no impact whatsoever on the outcomes. What liberals are missing is that the media, having sold us this bill of goods in Barack Obama, now has no credibility at all.
The 2010 elections will represent the greatest repudiation of a sitting President and his party in history.
wherein Barack “The Won” Obama creates a Straw Man for the American people and smiles at his own cleverness and wit
...and, yet, it’s Democrat politicians that are running away from Obama when they’re campaigning.
You’re talking as though logic and facts have some value to government.
I think Barry has been hitting the crack pipe a little too hard lately.
He must be high on something... oh, yeah... HIMSELF!
“the “vast majority” of Americans reject the ideas of the archconservative Tea Party movement”
You wish.
