I admire her spunk in taking on Perry. Perry could have come back just as forcefully instead of fumbling around, looking vaguely embarrassed. I don’t think any of these candidates should be anointed. I like the rough and tumble.
That being said, I wish they would go after Obama in every single question.
I may be out of line here,,,but I firmly believe in the spirit of Bush and Perry...these MEN do not attack women.....NO MATTER WHAT...and yes, as a woman, I admire that trait
“Perry could have come back just as forcefully instead of fumbling around, looking vaguely embarrassed.”
I think Perry’s an old boy from Texas who likes to treat women like ladies. I also tend to see him as one of those wild and wooly Southern types that has a soft spot for the ladies and makes sure to back off from attacking them head on if possible.
This is a stereotype, of course, but I see him as willing to avoid a shrill Northern woman if at all possible. Tonight, at times, Bachmann sounded shrill—and I like her. The shrill part needs to go, as she gets to sounding like she’s wired too tight.
That is true. Perry wasn’t good on that answer. He was absolutely correct, it’s absurd to accuse him of being bribed into the Gardisil decision. It wouldn’t matter how much money it was, it’s an insulting thing to accuse someone of without any evidence.
And she didn’t even accuse him directly of it, she took the coward’s way out, making the insinuation, leading people to the conclusion, but without having to take responsibility for the charge.
But he could have just said that if she wanted to accuse him of taking a bribe, she should just come out and say it, and show evidence of it.
