Using some of the ideas at this site
can actually make some good use of your garbage.
(Convert it to H2, CO, and other burnable hydrocarbons, and run them through a generator.)
Back in the early 70’s we used to dump water, draino and aluminum foil into the bottom of a one litre 7-up bottle (they were glass back then) to produce hydrogen. We’d use it to fill up balloons and release them with a lit string at night.
Real purdy when they popped.
The heat generated would eventually break the bottle, btw.
