British police allowed about a hundred jihadists chanting offensive slogans to march through central London Sunday and burn a US flag during the memorial events for the 9/11 massacres ten years ago.
At the same time, a group organized by the nationalist English Defense League that gathered to lay wreaths at the U.S. Embassy in London was told to move away in order to avert a possible clash between the groups. Police used force against the EDL group. The jihadis chanted "USA terror state!", "Burn, burn, USA!" and "Muslims rise up!" as a US flag was burned. One of the protesters spoke into the megaphone and said: "We can tell you that you will never win the war because Islam is [unclear] in Europe and America, and we are winning the war ideologically, militarily, economically!"
Other speakers insisted that the West's war on terror is a war against Islam, and said that the Western soldiers who died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq "died for nothing." As he was being led away from the US embassy, a leader of the EDL wreath-laying event told policemen: "You have just facilitated the complete humiliation of our whole country."

A mosque-shaped pig farm?
still waiting to hear is some sort of a theory as to how
Theory --> Lack of leadership? May have to revise that to fact.
Cronos, there is no doubt Islam has declared war against the West. Western leaders are afraid (imho) or playing some cards unknown to most everyone, or western leaders are being bought and sold by the islamic religion via oil money? Still unable to determine why our oil is not being used to counter this threat. Unless the (or) above is and, changing the question to declarative, which would or could resemble fact.
It’s the EDL, not the EDF. And as far as being “thugs,” they are the only Brits with the guts to stand up against the Islamic Nazis marching down your broad streets waving the Black Flag of Jihad, which is the Swastika of Islamism, while declaring their overt intention to enslave or convert you and your children.
My question to you would be, why were you NOT supportig the EDL against these Islamic Nazis?
Will you wait until (formerly) Great Britain is just one big “no go zone,” and your daughters must wear a veil to avoid being freely raped?
It is a blunt warning to convert to islam or be killed. It is every bit as evil as the German Nazi Swastika flag.
Too bad the West is so hamstrung by PC that we can't face reality head on.
Now the British police are so cowardly and PC-ridden that they arrest Brits who object to this overtly threatening display on the 9-11 anniversary, instead of the islamist nazi goons who were waving the Black Flag while burning Old Glory on the street in front of the US Embassy.
It’s a shame they didn’t pull that stunt in the southern U.S.A.
Yeah, yeah, we know you dont like us.
This was at least encouraging:
‘A small group of Muslims staged a counter-demonstration nearby, holding up placards reading ‘Muslims Against Extremism’ and ‘If You Want Sharia, Move To Saudi’.
Abdul Sallam, 41, who was waving a sign that read ‘Keep The Silence’, travelled down to London from his home in Glasgow to show the strength of his feelings.
He said: ‘I’m a Muslim. What they’re doing is bringing shame on all Muslims. This is not part of the teachings of Islam.
‘Islam is all about peace, but what they want to do is hate other people.
‘Islam teaches you that when you see anything bad or evil, you should speak out against it. If the moderate Muslims all came out and spoke out, that would defeat them.’
‘I am proud to be British. I love my country. All these people are doing is breaking Britain apart.’
Travis, those of us who are British freepers have explained 9,234,974 times about the background of the EDL, its links, its leaders and followers.
Thats why we dont support them. And the idea that we are less of a patriot because we dont is utter crap. People like myself and Mitch, who are ex-forces, dont need to justify ourselves to anyone. Let alone starry eyed Americans 3000 miles away who know less about the EDL than we do.
I was serving my country when many of the EDL were spending their time organising football hooliganism.
Two reasons, not that either of them is your business.
1/ I was at the regimental memorial service yesterday, honoring OUR losses, including both a beloved son and several of his friends. We, as a family, have given flesh and blood as a result of 9/11 - not words, a wreath and empty gestures.
2/ These EDL (yes, I misspelled - sorry) thugs have, by becoming more powerful around here, made both my wife and youngest daughters life hell, as they are both darker skinned than is obviously tolerable to them.
Two of them assaulted my wife in broad daylight as she walked to the local shop - stopped purely by friends who we have known for 30 years and who got annoyed. My daughter has actually emigrated to New Zealand, partially due to the antics of the EDL and their predecessors in our area, up to and including sexual harassment and attempted rape.
Do you think I should support these scumbags? May I ask if you proudly stand up and are counted with the Klan? I thought not. Yet that is what you are effectively asking me to do.
Everyone has limits. Touch my family and it is open season on whoever is stupid enough to try. My wife, by the way, is southern Italian. My youngest daughter is from Goa and has been raised as a Catholic English girl from the age of 6 months.
You are known by the company you keep - I choose not to keep company with thugs and rapists.
Too true.
I have done aid work in Kenya, the Sudan, Pakistan and the Congo. Places where you often need a ready tongue and your gun loose in it’s holster. And the vast majority of Muslims I met and talked to - and yes, I spoke direct in the native language most of the time, learning languages has always been easy for me - had one constant refrain.
We just want peace. We want to raise our children, and to try to get ahead a bit. To feed them without watching them starve. To simply be allowed to live.
I tend to stay off the Muslim threads here, something I am going to start to do again. Because the Muslims that are often discussed are as representative of the majority of Muslims as the Westboro Baptist Church is of Christianity.
Yes, I am probably gonna get flamed about this, especially from people who have never met a Muslim in their lives. I honestly don’t care.
But before you flame, think about who your enemy is. It isn’t the poor - they don’t care, because they are too damned busy working to feed themselves. Your enemy, and ours, is the wealthy. Like the sons of the aristocrats in 1920 who played with communism, or the spoilt brats in the 60’s who revered Mao and Che. You think some dirt poor Yememi farmers managed to raise the money to fly to the US and take flying lessons?
I love this site. I support it as and when I can. But DANG, some people here wear blinders.
Not at all. I didn’t like the White Paper and the Mandate. But Britain and Britons I like just fine. But do something about your infestation. Rule, Britania.
Sure. They’d love that in Dallas.
OK, then.
Kissy kissy kissy hug hug hug.
LOL
I have no problem with criticism, Jewish or non-Jewish of the ‘British Palestine’ issue/history.
What I object to is the argument the British decisions were made because of antisemitism or that the British people were or are anti-Jewish (the British people were and are the complete opposite). I also object to the hero worship of the Irgun and Stern gang or their characterisation as freedom fighters or militia. When in fact they were the Jewish IRA. Terrorists. Nothing more and nothing less.
We’ve had this discussion before. I don’t “hero worship” the Irgun, and certainly not Lehi. But terrorists, the Irgun most emphatically was not. Let’s just examine the charge once and for all, so we don’t have to keep going over this. “Terrorism” has come to mean guerrilla fighters whose main tactic is to target civilian non-combatants for political ends. The Irgun, far from targeting civilians, posted signs before operations warning civilians in Hebrew, English and Arabic to stay out of the area. On the contrary, the Irgun boldly attacked military and police targets and prevailed against incredible odds. They destroyed the CID building twice. They affected daredevil prison breaks and raided munitions depots for arms. They publicly beat British sergeants for abusing their power. That is not terrorism as the term is conventionally understood. As for Lehi, I hold no brief for them. Their assassination of an ambassador was inexcusable.
Terrorism in the past has meant a guerrilla fighting force that refuses to wear recognizable uniforms or have officers, and hides among civilian populations, using them as shields. In other words, violators of the 4th Geneva Convention. Irgunists admittedly did live normal lives in civilian areas, partly as camouflage for their subterranean activities. Menahem Begin writes of his years in Tel Aviv in which he was a bearded congregant in a small synagogue in a poor neighborhood. But that is not the same thing as using civilians as shields, as Hamas now does. In fact, when Yaakov Meridor was captured, he immediately admitted who he was and came along quietly, rather than subject his wife, children and neighbors to the ordeal and dangers of a struggle to evade armed British soldiers.
So did the Irgun violate the Geneva Convention? Yes. But “terrorists, plain and simple” they were not. They were freedom fighters in every sense of the word, not by any stretch comparable with the IRA, Hamas or the PLO.
As for allegations of British anti-Semitism, I would rather not go there. Suffice it to say that General Allenby and Co., the Cairo-Khartoum cabal, were willing to use anti-Semitism to solidify their hold on the Middle East. It backfired. The Grand Mufti turned on them and joined the Nazis, nearly costing Britain the war. But it’s the thought that counts. Had there been no White Paper, perhaps a half million or a million might have been saved. Had they not instigated Arab pogroms and attacks via their pal Haj Amin elHusseini and friends, there would not have been a White Paper. Were they anti-Semitic themselves, the Cairo-Khartoumists? It’s a moot point. Lord Samuels was even Jewish, but he went along with their machinations, and the entire world is still suffering for their folly.
Good point!
Thanks for the ping.
I’d say more than oil business (tho, an important factor).
There are already many moslems in the US & especially the UK. In addition to naturalized ones, many were born in mentioned countries, hence born citizens.
These moslems are, therefore, voters too. And, more than few, also, serve in the military of mentioned countries - as well as in various gov’t departments, even in the UK parliament - some even hold positions of power.
All of the above, mostly, unlike the Nazis of WWII.
So... you can draw your own conclusions regarding the implications thereof.
