True story: some time ago I was with someone at a singles bar. I was talking with a man who was quite nice. My friend came over and bluntly asked him what he did for a living. He replied that he was a used car salesman. She turned on her heel.
I was shocked that any woman would be so rude as to ask that question and even more so that she would turn away without one word.
It turns out the man was not a used car salesman. In fact, he was quite accomplished and quite well known. I’m sure you’d recognize his name. He turned out to be a terrific person and friend.
