IMO, Palin has far more political cloud and power by not running. She can put the heat on whomever she chooses and expose them.

IMO, Palin has far more political cloud and power by not running. Palin's political capital is fueled only by the belief (or fear) that she might well become the next president. If she removes herself from contention, that political capital will be downgraded faster than the US credit rating.
And as far as power is concerned, there isn't a more powerful position in US politics, than the presidency.
