I hear ya. Maybe it's me, but there's something a little masochistic about our focus on the victims, and on that day, and remembering the tragedy.

I know, we all want to respect and honor the dead. But I think it'd be better if on September 11 we celebrated everything we've accomplished against our enemies since that day.

It would have been nice if we could have had the new building done in ten years, too, when it took one year to build the Empire State Building.

There's just something about everyone blubbering and crying that rubs me wrong. I refuse to wallow in it.

Frankly, had the local will (I believe the National will was there) been there, both towers could have been replaced in much less time. I believe too much credence and liberal victim deference was attached to the whole 'rebuilding' effort and it delayed, delayed, delayed - all due to bickering amongst themselves and with government.

The victims here were not just surviving families, who by the way were extravagantly compensated unlike any disaster victims heretofore, but these entire United States. We, the air traveler, the bus traveler and any other public participant are subjected to the vestiges of this terrorist act. The victims do not have the franchise on bereavement - we (collectively) are suffering, too. DHS, TSA have determined WE are the enemy and we are paying for it with our freedom.

So, in summation, I don't want to pray, I don't want to reflect on how America caused this, and I don't want heap further commiseration on the victims' families. I WANNA NUKE SOMEBODY....
