Mr. President, we cannot spend our way to prosperity, it does not work.
Perry said he has a record of change whereas Obama only offers the rhetoric of change. Though he spent most of his brief remarks assailing the president, Perry vowed to continue to contrast himself with his GOP rivals too.
Perry, who mixed it up at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Wednesday night with the other Republican presidential hopefuls, particularly Mitt Romney, acknowledged that weve got our differences.
Well talk about them, Perry said, adding hopefully in a very respectful way.
I stood on the stage last night with seven other very, very fine and great Americans and every one of them would better than what we have in the White House today, Perry told the crowd, any one of them.
Few in the crowd seemed to be concerned about Perrys use of the term Ponzi scheme to describe Social Security despite the criticism he has been drawing even from other Republicans. (Perry did not use that phrase on Thursday.) In fact, some of his supporters appeared to be embracing Ponzi scheme as a rallying cry. Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson, a Perry backer, who spoke ahead of the governor, praised Perrys use of provocative language.
And Micki Blair, a teacher from nearby Corona, Calif. who said she was leaning toward Perry in the primary, agreed.
I dont think his rhetoric is too strong, she said. I think that people are mature, have a brain. They can figure out that if you dont put enough in, you cant pass it all out. It just doesnt work that way.
Perry will remain in California through the end of the week. He has a full schedule of fundraising events in Southern and Central California and the Bay Area.

More like big question marks about what this was supposed to prove. It seems to be insinuated that Perry was in the know about Countrywide’s skeletons, without stating when the Dodd scandal actually came to light.
The race card is the answer. It has now been maxed out and it is far safer to (rhetorically) blister Obummer’s hide.
Nobody is afraid of taking it to Obama there are not shortage of those folks around. I am not sure that should be the only criteria. Election will probably about principles and policy if you have the right principles you can get to the right policy. If one does not like one’s principles during the vetting process one can compromise and say “Well he can win though” and we do that a lot. The GOP is great about talking about all their principled stances but are often “All hat no cat” this is why folks get really ticked off. I guess support the candidate that matches your principles, but know this Obama has no chance of winning he cannot raise enough money to even steal it.
Uttering “third rail! third rail! “ is akin to the military axiom that generals always fight the last war.
The fact the term ponzi scheme was used first crack out of the box means there is a new war with new rules. ooops.....it means real change
Countrywide musta taken one look at Perry's shucks, y'all grin, and figured," Man, this is gonna be easy."
"Jest sign me up, fellas."

Gov. Rick Perry's Remarks Regarding Countrywide Financing / Dec 14, 2004 "...Today we are not only building upon the Texas Enterprise Funds tremendous record of creating jobs, we are unveiling its crowning jewel. I am proud to announce that the state of Texas is investing $20 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund to help Countrywide Financial bring 7,500 additional jobs to Texas over the next 6 years. This is the largest job creation announcement in the United States since 2000 according to Site Selection Magazine, and proof that the Enterprise Fund is a key reason Texas is leading the nation to economic recovery. You can consider the Countrywide expansion to be Exhibit A as to why we need to continue to invest state dollars in the Texas Enterprise Fund..."
(Cue in Perrydactyls foaming at the mouth.)
“On this issue, Rick Perry was treating voters as adults.”
A refreshing change from Obama and the Democrats...isn’t it?
The instant O” was inaugurated, all that ‘race’ matter bullsh%$ went by the way.
Psychologically and practically race was a moot point in America for a VERY long time before O came to public notice.
Prior and long-since resolved matters were shamelessly exhumed and trumped-up anew just to enhance Os character (such as it is) and otherwise doubtful odds of success.
If Conservatives leaders AGAIN submit to MSM and minority intimidation, then they almost deserve what they get.
As for the rest of America, we are daily, first hand witness to the continuous, broad and profound advances which have been made by minorities in this country, and for decades past.
WE are not fooled or intimidated by Liberal and MSM lies about the need to retain and enlarge existing entitlements or the need for more and greater entitlements. If just one Conservative candidate can express this, then NOW is the time.
O must NOT be permitted to perpetually bank on some kind of bulls%$# guilt we are supposed to have over racial issues, which are and HAVE BEEN well on the way to resolution in this country. His exploitation of the issue itself represents a set back that NO ONE wants to talk about.
” You can consider the Countrywide expansion to be Exhibit A as to why we need to continue to invest state dollars in the Texas Enterprise Fund...”
LOL!
Who do you maintain is?
Do you have any thing to support this post?
Surely you can find more than that to criticize!
Neither of the top two announced candidates however they are both very electable.
Just amused by an eensy-weensy thing from someone who isn’t very verbally facile.
(And yes, I could find more to criticize, but I can also find areas deserving of praise.)
The question was who do you maintain is the rock solid conservative...not who is not. We alredy know your opinion of these two!!!
With running shoes Sarah Palin of course but with no shoes it does not matter right?
Well, the Perrydactyls may not approve---but this IS the United States of America. We citizens are free to comment about elections and candidates, as we see fit.
Americans can speak without fear----that is until Ricky Perry came along. Now we're expected to salute before we speak.
============================================
Looks like if Perry gets in, only some Americans will have free speech.
There's a saying in Texas; "Good Yankees go home. Damn Yankees stay in Texas."
I've lived in Texas all my life and never heard anything closely resembling that!
As for the rest of your post--
You lie!
Are you a damn Yankee in Texas?
So I guess the answer to my question is you have nothing to support your post. Although you are certainly free to post anything you wish it says a lot about you that you choose to post unsubstantiated rumor!!!

You obviously have no knowledge of Liz’s posting history regarding Perry. Most of her Perry posts are FACTS VERY MUCH IN EVIDENCE, not humorous quips.
I don’t want this professional politician in the WH...his photo opps with LaRaza and ACORN by themselves ought to give any thinking person pause.
