The defense and aerospace contractor ATK, Alliant Techsystems, based in Eden Prairie, announced today that it will relocate its corporate headquarters Oct. 1 to Arlington, Va., where the company will expand its existing office space. The company will continue to maintain a strong presence in Minnesota, including approximately 210 Minnesota-based corporate employees. In total, ATK employs approximately 2700 people in Minnesota. ATK currently employs approximately 3,500 people in the Mid-Atlantic region, where it operates facilities in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia

They don’t want to be located in the state with the highest proposed taxes in the nation? If Gov Dayton gets his way more will go on to the business friendly states.
Alliant was the last residual of the old Honeywell high technology defense capabilities. Moving the HQ to Arlington, despite its atrocious rental rates, is obviously a desperate attempt to lock in better with Pentagon bidding.
All the newly unemployed can ride the yellow bikes and follow the “Minnesota nice” signs. Dayton is a big dope. He has crazy eyes.
For what it’s worth, ATK (aka federal Ammunition) is the bullying gorilla of the ammunition industry. They don’t play well with others.
