Gay men will be able to give blood as long as they haven't had sex for 12 months, the Government announced today, overturning a lifetime ban brought in due to the spread of HIV and Aids.
The move came in response to new scientific evidence that found a lifetime ban was an unnecessary safety precaution.

I’m banned from donating because I spent a week and a half in the English country side, plus a year and a half in Germany (in the Army). There was concern over mad cow disease, so I cannot give.
And I’m O negative.
I cannot fathom the stupidity of decisions like this.
Exactly...how are they going to tell if they have or not. Impossible. So this is simply a sick move to “include” sodomites into mainstream. Time for all to have family members tested and lined up if blood is needed for any.
Hmmm excellent point. What about the closet homos? They can be donating today for all we know.
If I were running a National Health Service...and wanted to minimize utilization...this is precisely the move to make.
I didn’t realize it killed so many. I’m sorry about your friend.
In the early/mid 80s I had an accident and the doctors were going to force me to have a transfusion. I adamantly refused (had not heard of AIDS) and finally one intervened and allowed me not to get blood as long as I took other measures, which I did.
Obviously fags will lie and claim they haven’t had “sex” for a year, many of them have stated that they want us normal people to get AIDS.
Screened for AIDS but AFAIK it can slip through the cracks since even those infected may not show up positive for some time.
Can you source that story and the figures?
Of course, anyone who would lie about whether they've had sex in the past year would almost certainly also lie about whether they are homosexual (so they could give blood, with or without this change in policy).
RED CROSS WORKER: “Sir, are you a homosexual?”
HOMOSEXUAL: “Yes.”
RED CROSS WORKER: “How old are you?”
HOMOSEXUAL: “22 years old.”
RED CROSS WORKER: “Have you had sex in the past year?”
HOMOSEXUAL: “Uhhh...no.”
RED CROSS WORKER: “Uhh, no”? Really? You are 22 years old, and haven’t had sex in a year. You paused for a second there. If you lie, you could infect an innocent person with HIV.”
HOMOSEXUAL: “Well...er...no, then. No I haven’t had sex in the last year.”
RED CROSS WORKER: “Okay then. Roll up your sleeve.”
I guess Tatchell's never heard of the term "going bareback"?
It's a terrorist attack on the public.
Well, obviously, a dodnor is one who dodns.
Like an actor is one who acts.
And a doctor is one wh... never mind.
That’s a good idea, but with leftists in charge I think it’ll be harder to do the right thing; IMO some kind of power struggle will have to happen first.
That depends on what your definition of “sex” is.
Ive often wondered why none of the vampires in hollywood flicks never work in blood banks. But now with this, I guess all bets are off.
It’s not just about AIDS, folks.
Gay people harbor all sorts of nasties.
Because after a year they’re cured?
This’ll make blood a lot more expensive. A smaller percentage of units will get past the screening.
I’ll bet they won’t tell anyone when the failure rate starts climbing.
“I’d like to inject this piece of excrement with a syringe of HIV blood.”
El Presidente Jorge Booosh will not be please with your less than “compassionate” conservatism.
Besides, that chap’s ‘partner’ will probably give him HIV with a rather more organic ‘needle’.
Just my opinion.
