Harold Ford, Jr.: Obama 'Greatest Orator The Office Has Ever Known'

Lincoln's Gettysburg Address? FDR's day of infamy and nothing to fear but fear itself? JFK's ask not? Reagan's Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall? Meh. Not bad I suppose, but nothing compared with Barack Obama's immortal rhetoric, such as when he proclaimed, uh, like, when he intoned, that is . . .
On today's Morning Joe, the unctuous Harold Ford, Jr. went into sycophantic overdrive, telling White House press secretary Jay Carney that President Obama is "the greatest orator that the office has ever known." View the video here.

Bert:
What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Harold Ford Jrs mother gave him the best possible gift. She gave him the genes of a white father.
That is racist, and it was unfortunate to see a comment like that here. There are many reasons to hate democrats, but their particular genes are not one of them.

Actually it was Harold Ford Sr.’s mother that had an affair with her white employer.

Lincoln: Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract."

Harold Ford, Jr.: Obama 'Greatest Orator The Office Has Ever Known' EVERYTHING he says, he says with the same inflection. Whether talking about the economy, the wars, or what he did on vacation. It all sounds the same.

NO ONE is whiter than Carney. NO ONE. I admit, Ford gives him a run for the money, but Carney is the whitest man in America. (Well, Robert Gibbs....)

What quote from Bamboozle will be his most memorable?I nominate this one:
"One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world -- Navy Corpse-Man Christian Brossard."

I’d add George Washington’s speech to his officers during the Newburgh Crisis to that list of truly great speeches.
