But I am not the one to do the state’s justice, in that particular setting. At the time of the offense, I would not hesitate.

From what they told me in Texas, Karla Faye was legit- but she still deserved to die...
But Karla Faye wanted to live! And is that so odd for someone who has found new life? Not really, not for a new Christian. But Karla Faye deserved her fate.
If she received some comfort on her way to the chamber, that must be enough. Claiming Christ at the end can not be used to escape justice. Or else, every murderous psychopath would claim a love of Christ to escape the first death.
The death penalty first and foremost is a deterrent.
